Yesterday we had our 9 month check up. The girls are both doing well with weight and everything. Hannah has torticolis, we've known this and have started pt. Now the doctor believes she also has a mild case of CP on her right side, a result of a brain bleed when she was in the NICU. On top of everything, they had flu shots and Hannah had PT yesterday afternoon. I took her because it had been a while since she had the shot and she was acting fine. Once we got there, she stopped acting fine, cried the whole time and we accomplished nothing. When I got home she had a fever (yes, I had already given her tylenol for soreness). I felt HORRIBLE for dragging her to PT. I feel like I'm trying so hard to do the exercises but whenever we go to PT it doesn't seem like she's made any progress. We also found out that one reason we are being denied rsv vaccines is because a cardiologist we saw one time for a follow up says we don't need them. I've been on the phone this morning trying to get that straightened out. I'm just pretty down and discouraged today, I wanted so badly to stay home today but needed to come to work. Hopefully things will brighten up.
 Debbie. I am so sorry that you have to deal with so much right now. I am sorry to hear that Hannah isn't feeling well. I hope you are able to get the RSV shots worked out. Good Luck!
Oh honey, I'm sorry you had such a crummy day. Hang in there... and good luck fighting for the RSV shots. I hope you find out good news about Hannah and that PT starts to be worth the effort!
Sorry to hear about your day  Don't worry about the PT session, I used to see babies all the time that would cry the whole session and especially when you're trying to do massage/stretching with the neck, if they're not feeling well they won't tolerate it. Your PT understands, you can't always predict your baby's mood Treating torticollis can be a slow process, especially for older babies. Just keep at the exercises. Most babes I treated were almost 100% resolved by the time they were walking (when ever that may be 12 mo or 16 months). It takes time to retrain the muscles and brain to correct the head tilt. Don't get discouraged ! As for the dx of CP, talk with your PT about it. A lot of kids have mild CP and you can hardly tell. Most go on to play what ever sports they want and are very active! Feel better, tomorrow's another day!
 Debbie, you are such a good mom! I know it's hard to "fight" the system sometimes but we do what we have to for our kids. Hang in there. Your kids are lucky to have you as a mommy!
