Has anyone gone on a cruise with their twins? If so, I would love to know how it went. Any suggestions? They will be 16 months when we go. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think I'd be too scared of them falling from the ship to be honest!

I haven't yet, but I will say YES, you should totally do it!! I personally think cruising is a great vacation choice for families, especially if you choose a line with good kids programs. I think most cruises will charge you for any care for kids under 3 (I know Disney does), but how wonderful to be able to go to a nice dinner, and only be steps away from your kids. The Disney cruises are more expensive than say Royal Caribbean, but they're also very much geared to those with even very young kids.

For us, the biggest obstacle is that we don't sleep well all in the same room. The kids or us, so we would need to wait until we win the lottery so we can afford a multi-room suite!

We are really hoping to take a cruise at some point but we've decided to wait till they are older. But if you guys are up to it then DO IT!! I'd love to hear how it went!! We have the same issue as the pp that we'd have to get a multi room suite.

I took my girls when they were 7 months old. My parents came with us. I would rather bring them at this age, since they are more independent and can walk. I say go for it. You don't have to cook or clean, which is better than any day at home.

we almost did, but knowing that one of us would have to stay in the room each night/nap while they slept was what stopped us. we didn't think our monitors would work on the ship. otherwise, it's a nice, big, enclosed place to go!

We are going in about a month for the first cruise with the kiddos. But mine are older. I don't think I would have done it when they were 16 months. Their bedtime was too early and they needed their nap. Now we can push back bedtime and they don't nap anymore. Plus they can participate in the kids' activities after age 2.

If you do go, get a balcony cabin (if you can afford it), so you can go sit out there while they nap or sleep. I think RCCL has babysitters you can hire to sit in your cabin. I would try to bring along grandparents or another family member to help. I still say go for it. It's better than being stuck at home. Here's a great website all about Family Cruising.
