Oh no! Are they climbing out the cribs? If they are you might want to put pillows or thick blankets around the crib...or it might be time for toddler beds. Yikes! Amazing how fast they can figure out stuff you don't want them to figure out!

I have no idea what to do about this! I am so screwed!
They are also very close to figuring out if the lift the cage up they can get out. They already push it all around the living room.

Do you mean they figured out how to open the zipper? If so, I would safety pin the zipper closed from the outside. As to lifting it up, I would be the "mean mommy" and add more velcro straps so they can't move it.

    Cohlee,

That is my worst nightmare! Sharon had great advice, hopefully that helps! Are they standing on things in the crib to reach up? Maybe you could take out any stuffed toys etc. I hope it was just a fluke!

Yeah, I'm a little confused. How did they figure out how to unzip it? Isn't the zipper on the outside?

Our crib tents don't find our cribs. They are meant to be on cribs that are even on all sides ... and we have the sleigh style crib. So my husband really had to rig up the crib tent. We actually used string to secure the tent all the way around. The velcro straps wouldn't even fit around our ledges. It's a real pain in the butt, but there is no way they could get that thing off!

Mine is kind of rigged as well. They tore a small hole in the seam and are now able to get a hand through the hole to get to the zipper (I assume I did not actually see them do it), then I assume they just pushed/pulled/grabbed until it was all the way open.

Fortunately they do not climb out yet, and I am in no way ready for beds, and neither are they.

As for the cage, I meant that they are close to escaping superyard thing. They cannot lift the crib tent as that is velcro'd and secure to the crib.

I have the same superyard that's in your profile picture. My guys stick their toes in the holes and climb right over that thing now! The first day they did it I cried!

See, this is the same sort of reasons I come to this blog. . . I'm clueless myself!

Amy figured out how to unzip her crib tent (the same way you described), but fortunately not until she was at least 2.5. We wound up keeping the crib tents until they gave up cribs just after their 3rd b'day because the kids liked them, even though they could get out whenever they wanted.

Anyway, did your crib tent come with a little extra piece of ribbon? I think you're supposed to be able to use that to knot the zipper down so the kids can't push it up. We of course lost our bit of ribbon almost immediately, but I'm sure you could use a shoelace or something (as long as it's not long enough to go around their necks if they get it loose). Good luck!

I stitched the holes closed a number of times and then requested a warranty replacement when it got too shredded. My boys weren't trying to escape -- they just liked to climb on the outside. Anyway, it was easy and free to get the replacement.

Beau could do it too, I used a big safety pin, it was safe as it was on the outside. Ahhhh, memories!
