My one son just started turning over in his crib and has been waking himself up because he gets an arm or leg stuck through the crib rails. He is also hitting his head on the crib rails too. Needless to say, his sleeping has been affected - and thus mine too!!! I'm desperate for a solution but am fearful to put in real crib bumper pads because of all of the fear surrounding them with SIDS. I'm considering getting the mesh breathable bumper pads but would like some opinions if they helped, which brand do you like best and where do you get them.

    Thanks so much!

I purchased ours online at BRU. They had a much better selection online. I believe they are just called Breathable Bumpers. We love them. They were very easy to install, and I am able to leave them on when I change the sheets.

One word of caution, I recall some posters in the past mentioning they couldn't use them in their cribs. They work fine in ours (it's a pretty standard crib), so maybe someone will post and elaborate on why they didn't work.

    Good Luck!

We use "Breathable Bumpers" from Babies R Us...I think I've seen them at Target, too.

We got ours at BRU as well. They work great for when they are little. DS doesn't have any problems with his, it works great. DD is always messing with hers now that she is older and pulls the velcro off. She even squished it down past the mattress so it doesn't do any good.

They worked great when the babies were little and just begginning to roll around, but now that they stand, walk and jump in thier cribs, they get shoved down past the matress so it is pointless to have them on at this age.

BRU breathable bumpers here too! But...here's a good laugh for you. I didn't put bumpers in until they turned 1, and only in Emma's crib. Why? I needed to keep a stash of binkies in there for her and the bumpers prevent them from falling out when she is searching for one!! :D

Oddly enough, she now loves to sleep right up against the bumpers. Maybe it gives her added warmth? Who knows. But I love these bumpers.
