I have come across crib dividers and I am wondering if anyone has used them and how they liked them. We have been planning on getting 2 mini cribs because we don't have room for 2 full size cribs. but if I can save money then that will be nice. I am worried about it increasing the risk of sids. we aren't using bumper pads because of the risk of sids and this seems like it might defeat the purpose of not using bumper pads.

Anyway, has anyone used them ?

Wow, I have never seen that. Pretty cool, but I would think they would outgrow their side pretty quickly and you would have to get 2 of something anyway.

If you are worried about bumpers, this would basically be the same thing, I think. I used bumpers, and put them both in a full size crib(with no divider) for the first 6 months.

My two just shared the same crib, no dividers, no problems. But it looks like it might be great if it serves your purpose!

Thanks ! I want to be able to keep them together for as long as possible. I just want to be prepared in case I would need to separate them .

I think it depend upon the babies, some sleep great together and other don't. Unfortunatley mine would just keep each other up. My one son was colicky and if he heard his brother cry he would be up and upset. I would just have an extra pack and play on hand in case you need to seperate them and you can store it under your bed when you are not using it. I personally do not think the crib divider is necessary since they really do not move that much in the begining and by the time they can roll over and move they will probably outgrow their side of the crib. If anything each other's crys will keep them up, not necessarily them rolling into each other. I think they will stay to their own side for awhile so I would wait and see if you need it before you spend money on it. You can always roll up a recieving blanked to put between the two of them.

I have one, but I bought it used from a twin mommy.

The babies shared a crib up until about 4 months old, when they outgrew being put in the crib side by side the short way and also started rolling around. I used the crib divider then to seperate their feet from kicking each other, and angled their heads into a top corner of the crib and their feet towards the middle/crib divider.

By 5.5 months they started kicking the crib divider into each other, and I took it back out and just put the babies with their heads at opposite ends and their feet towards the middle, one laying at the back of the crib and one at the front.

I am glad I didn't pay full price for it, but it was nice to use for the cheap price I paid for it.

I use one and like it I have had no problems so far. I still only have one crib so I plan on using the divider as long as I can. I dont use crib bumpers the girls keep their faces by the rails not the divider.
