I only have one crib right now. My babies are still in the NICU. I have a bassinett and they will use that together for the first month in my room. Does anyone use one crib with a thing that separates the babies in the middle? I need to buy oneif there is one out there.

I don't know if I will have room for more than one crib...HELP!! My girls are now 3.5 weeks old. They are now nipple feeding...I think they will be home soon. YEAH!

Also for those of you that use the ANGEL monitors - do we need to put them in separates cribs to use them?

I was going to get one but found that the twinnies slept so much better when they were together. We had one crib for the longest time (up until 2 weeks ago) When they started moving around too much I put one in the pnp and the other in the crib. They shared my bedroom so talk about tight on space.

I don't know about the angel monitors though.

    Congrats on your babies!

We didn't use Angel monitors but the product description says that you have to use separate cribs. They do not function properly if there are two babies in one crib with the monitor (or even with two monitors in one crib).

We never used a crib divider. Our girls shared a crib until they were about five months old. Then they were too mobile and kept rolling into each other and waking up. If you don't have space for two cribs you might be able to fit a crib and a pack and play, but don't worry about that until they're older and bigger. For now one crib will work just fine.

Our NICU told us not to get Angel monitors. They don't prevent SIDS and only increase anxiety with the alarms going off all the time.

On dividers, we didn't ever use one because we swaddled the babies...so it didn't seem necessary. I've heard the same thing others posted about the Angel monitors...

We're also space constrained, and instead of going with a regular crib, we went with 2 "mini cribs" (also called "porta-cribs"). They're the size of pack-n-plays, but wooden and the height of a regular crib...so you get the look of a real crib without taking up so much room, or without having to bend down low to get babies in and out once they're past the bassinet stage.

I've loved them. My littles slept in one together until their lengths outgrew its width at about 3 months (they slept side-by-side), and now sleep in their own cribs but in the same room.

Here's a link to the ones we have (we got them through Wal-Mart online because that's where they were the cheapest, the same model sells under the BabyMod brand and Davinci brand on other sites):

If you do go this route, definitely purchase a bigger mattress (3") to go along with it, as the one that comes with the crib is only 1" and didn't seem very comfortable.

They're big enough to last them for at least the first 2 years, when we'll transition to a bed. The model we got can also be made into a twin bed, with purchase of a mod kit.
