Crib Bumpers

DH and I were curious about when to use crib bumpers. The crib our twins sleep in is one that has a changing table attached so therefore one side is closed off. Our DD has been sleeping on that side of the crib lately and somehow through the night she goes from the vertical position to the horizontal position, so her head is literally against the wood. We are afraid that she will hurt her head and wonder if we could put something there to avoid that.
I know that they say not to use crib bumpers but I also don't want a baby with a concussion either!

 

I've used bumpers since they started sleeping in the crib (they spent the first 3 mos in the swings due to colic) and have never ever had a problem...

 

I recently took my bumpers off because they were putting their faces in it and getting tangled. I am going to order the breathable bumpers. I also heard someone else say the crib tent II is good. I don't think they would hit their heads that hard to hurt themselves??!!

 

We used bumpers from the day they started sleeping in their cribs (at 3 months of age). We've never had any problems.

 

It's pretty much impossible for the babies to hurt themselves on the hard parts of the crib - I mean, would you bang your head against something hard enough to give yourself a concussion? My babies have been sleeping w/o bumpers from day 1, and we've never had a single bruise. Personally I find the risks of bumpers way too scary (suffocation, entanglement, etc).

 

We used bumpers the entire 3 years we used cribs.

 

I have always used bumpers - the girls lvoe them and snuggle w/ them.

 

We never got bumpers so we don't use them....everything is fine so far!

We are still using bumpers. They use them as pillows and foot props.
