I have another question.my twins are 7 months. They got excellent head control, love tummy time..but the girl is on the move.she rolls freaking ever where.she is very active sleeper.she bumps her head on the crib bars when she sleeps a lot then cries. Should I start using crib bumper?? We never use those.oh yeah she also sticks her legs out of the crib too. She is the most active sleeper I know

I worried about this too, but with bumpers they can use them to climb. I ended up buying breathable bumpers which helps keep their limbs inside the cribs. The head bumping is probably more startling than painful. My girls quicky learned what the sound was and now it doesn't phase them. The both toss and tuen and sleep right at the slats.

I also have the breathable bumpers. Keeps their arms and legs in and provides a bit of cushioning.

I believe the fluffy type bumpers are not recommended until the child is 12 months old, for fear of SIDS.

We have some that I can't wait to use. My girls don't bump their heads, but they tend to skootch up in the cribs and get their head directly into a corner while they sleep. I'm sure it isn't comfortable when they move around or turn their heads.

We used the breatheable bumpers and they worked great! They are good soother catchers along with keeping their arms and legs in the crib. We finally just took them out about a month ago because they started to learn to undo them :headbang:

Also used breathable bumpers, although honestly the leg in the crib was a passing phase. We really only needed those bumpers a couple weeks before she figured out boundaries. Then we just kept them on anyway...eventually we took them off because she kept pulling them off - that velcro is strong but I guess she was stronger. :pardon:

I always used the regular bumpers and never took them out of the cribs-but my kids also weren't climbers. I have seen the breathable bumpers in Babies R Us or even Target I believe. I did take the bumpers down when they really started to move. However, all the bumping and stuck limbs made me put it back up!
