My twins have both been getting up on all 4's for about 3days now and "rocking" back and forth. How long did your little one do this till the actual crawling started??Also, DS has gotten in 2teeth, and DD has started just crying all day and waking in the night screaming- could she be getting one of hers in, because she hasnt gotten any yet.
I just wantto say congrats to all you guys who have made it past the first year, i dont know how you guys did it. Im loosing my sanity. They arnt sleeping through the nightyet, they dont nap atthe same time- i only get maybe 2 hrs a sleep a night(no DH does not help worth a crap). Anywho, i am looking to you guys knowing it does eventually get better......Right? ;)

My two were on the hands and knees for about 1.5 months before they started crawling.

I think my girls did the all 4's rocking thing for about 2 weeks - then look out! I betcha DD is starting to get a tooth or teeth. Natalie got her 2 bottoms in at the same time, Carley was about 2 weeks behind. Do you use anything? teething tablets? (they are great) or tylenol? this may help with her pain. I went through the no sleeping thing too at that age. :hug99: I'm a single mom, so I know how it is with no help. Bummer DH is there and won't help. My girls are just starting to sleep a little better at night. Natalie still is waking once to eat, but this is better than it was. It will get easier I promise. Especially once they start crawling, they'll be able to entertain themselves a little more. Do you have schedules for the girls naps? My girls nap great. At daycare they are seperated for naps and they take about 2 - 2hour naps per day. I JUST started seperating them on the weekends because they weren't napping worth crap for me in the same room. So far it's been good. Breakfast same time everyday - morning nap same time every day (after breakfast) afternoon nap same time every day - after lunch. Good luck!!! It does get easier. And just wait until they are REALLY moving and interacting - you'll fall in love all over again as their little personalities really come out.

    about 6 weeks for Addison.

Ella has been rocking for almost 2 months now and she will army crawl and "inch worm" but no typical crawling yet!

Hang in there!!! Things will get easier for you.

Wow, it's so interesting to read about the differences between babies!

DS has been army crawling, "swimming," and inchworming for well over a month. It's only in the last couple weeks that he's started getting up on all fours. DD doesn't give a hoot.

Your DD could definitely be teething! Tylenol or ibuprofen might help...

Also just wanted to send a hug. Twins are HARD! :hug99:

Mine have been up on all 4's rocking for well over a month now...I THINK DD technically crawled for a second yesterday....maybe they're just gonna go straight to walking!

Both of my girls crawled about 1 month after reaching the on the knees & rocking stage.

Mine have been rocking for over a month, but neither crawls like the way you envision crawling. Meara rolls and scoots and army crawls and has been doing this forever. She'll get on her hands and knees and rock and then get on her belly and get to where she wants to go. Ana rocks, then inch-worms and rolls to where she wants to be. But two days ago she discovered that when she is on her hands and knees she can lift up her knees so now she gets on her hands and feet  - its like the yoga move "downward facing dog." Maybe she'll never crawl like a normal kid.. maybe she'll just get up and walk one day.

So I have no advice for when you can expect crawling. I thought for sure when they started creeping and army crawling that regular crawling would follow, but its months and the fact that they haven't crawled doesn't mean they can't get where they want to go. If you haven't already, start baby proofing!!!

It gets better. It gets much better!

James was rocking on all 4s starting about 4 weeks ago and just started crawling this weekend.

James already has 2 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth just coming in. Evan has 2 bottom teeth coming. Teething really affects their sleep (contrary to what my book, HSHHC says), especially James.

I think you need to get your husband's butt in gear before you lose your sanity! He needs a to-do list. If I didn't have my partner's support (in the form of unloading the dish washer, soothing babies, feeding babies, running errands, etc.) I would be in a mental institution. I think many Dads just need clear, specific instructions (i.e. Please not leave for work until the dish washer is unloaded, a load of laundry is done, I've had a shower and all the bottles for the day are ready. If you leave me with all of this to do on top of caring for the babies you might not find us sane when you get home from work!)

Lucas has been on his hands and knees and rocking for about 2 1/2 weeks now. He is rocking hard enough that he lands on his face a lot!

Jonas has started army crawling...have not seen him get on his hands and knees though.

Jonas got his bottom teeth both within a week at 6 months old. Then his top two came in at the same time about 2 weeks ago and now he's cutting the ones next to those on each side and a canine tooth on the left side. He's cranking.

Lucas got his bottom two teeth at the same time right before 7 months. That's it for him so far.
