my LO's do not crawl. it looks like tummy time has always looked like, lol!
my one LO sticks his but up in the air and i really try and help him but he can not crawl.

is this ok for babies that are almost 10 months? i know everything i read says its ok but it looks as if he is trying to crawl but cant get his body up on his knees if that makes sense.

My LO's will be 1 yr old on 1 April. They were born 10 weeks early, but neither of them is crawling yet. They get up on their knees and rock a little sometimes and they scoot around on their butts pretty well. They also "slither" around on their bellies, but always go backwards. Our Dr doesn't seem concerned at all. He keeps telling us they have the strength and ability to crawl, they just don't want to and they will do it when they are ready. I understand your frustration and worry, though. I fight the worry demons a lot, too. Hang in there! I betcha they will start crawling all of a sudden and then you won't be able to stop them. ;)

Mine were basically full-term, and they started crawling at 9.5 mos and 10.5 mos, respectively. They are all over the place now. Suffice to say, I'm sure yours are fine - they'll get there when they're ready.

How long have your babies been getting up on their knees and rocking? Brandon started to do that about 10 days ago so we've been expecting him to start crawling any day now. Perhaps I should lower my expectations

I don't remember, exactly - maybe 3 weeks or so? Maybe it just feels like it's been 3 weeks (ha!). And, now that I think about it, my DS rarely does the rocking thing but he somehow gets around sitting on his butt. It's weird because I rarely actually see him moving, but he will be in one spot and I will be with his sister or look down at something and then look back up and he will be 3 feet over. A few minutes later, he's another 3 feet over. It's kind of freaky! My DD is a champ at getting her knees under her and rocking, but she only moves backwards and it's sort of by sliding, not by what I consider traditional crawling. It does feel like they have been on the verge of crawling for sometime, now, though. And, yes, it does feel like they are never going to learn! ;)

Crawling isn't actually a milestone, because some kids never do it! Some only army crawl, some traditional crawl, some scoot on their bum's, and some just start walking! Don't worry, when they are ready they'll move around! My older dd rolled everywhere for the longest time! The twins started army crawling first, and didn't crawl until much later. I like Liam was 8.5 months and Rylee was about 10 months. Liam army crawled at 6 months, and is already walking at 12 months!

My boys were nine months old when they started crawling... Nicholas was actually four days before his nine month "bday" and Anthony was two weeks after he turned nine months.

Annabella.... I thought she would be crawling by now. She was probably 7/7.5 months old when she was up on all fours and rocking. Now she is nine months old-and not crawling. She has just started army crawling-but not consistently. And for having two older brothers-I thought FOR SURE she would be crawling. It seems like she's trying to do a lot all at once-crawl, go into sitting position from laying down, and pulling up. I'd wish she just master at least ONE of them!

    I'm sure they are fine!

My boys started crawling around 10 months ( maybe a bit after) The one who was army crawling a month before was actually not the one who real crawled first. My one just got up on his knees and went...almost out of nowhere? It will happen soon!
