Crawling question?

So my fraternal twin girls are almost 8 months old and although they try to crawl, they just haven't figured it out yet. They roll onto their tummies and can lift their chest off the ground, but then they put their arms to the side and just kick their legs. It looks like they are trying to swim. I know babies crawl from 6-9 months, but I was just wondering when everyone else's twins started crawling? And is there anything I can do to help them learn?

 

Mine are almost 8 months too and no crawling here! They don't even like to be on their tummies. I'm guessing it will happen when they are ready...

 

My DS started crawling at about 6 months, and at 8.5 months, DD is not. She does the swimming thing you described, and gets really frustrated that she is not moving. I'm not too worried about it though, crawling isn't really considered a milestone because so many babies never crawl. I think DD may be one of those never crawl babies, she is trying to pull up an everything she can get her hands on, and can stand holding onto something if you put her into position, so I am just waiting for her to get up and walk instead!

 

DD started crawling at 7 months and DS just a few days ago (they'll be 9 months Thur) started army crawling. I didn't think he would ever start! DD still prefers to army crawl most of the time.

 

8 months here and no crawling either!

 

Josh was crawling around 8 months. Zach did the army crawl for the longest time until he figured out how to get his belly up off the ground! Oh just wait until they are truly mobile! You will wish they just sat there again

 

My babies were preemies so they are a little delayed anyway, but I thought I'd chime in. My DS started crawling at 9 months (7 months adjusted) and my daughter JUST started crawling today at 10.5 months (8.5 months adjusted). She's doing it very little, but for me it's huge, I never thought I'd see it.

They both started that around 7 mos. But Ben did not crawl until 9 mos, and Hannah did not crawl until 11 mos.

 

My girls were born 9 weeks early. Lily started crawling at 9 months almost to the day, and prior to starting she did a lot of that "swimming". Grace is still at the "swimming" stage. She does get up on her hands and knees and does an army crawl/scoot backwards, but no actual forward motion or crawling yet.

My pedi keeps telling me that some babies never crawl, they go straight to walking.

 

My oldest son Gavin started walking before he started crawling. he would get so frusturated on his belly. we got tired of him not crawling that we just started working on him with walking. He started walking at 9 months. Then at around 10 months he figured out how to crawl so he could crawl to the counch to pull up so he could walk. it was pretty funny!

 

Mine are 10.5 months (almost 9 months adjusted) and neither is crawling yet. Anna is reaching for objects and swimming. She can't seem to get the second knee forward. Jackson just sits and watches.

 

My girls are just 10 months (were 5 weeks early). Annalise is army crawling and has been for a month at least. Jillian is just starting but she is up on her hands and knees, mostly going backwards. They'll figure it out eventually, My DD was a late crawler and walker. No worries.
