throughout certain parts of the day (LIKE RIGHT NOW, lol) my LO's (especially one of them) get cranky because they cant fall asleep. i try their crib and they like the swing or to be held. i really dont want to get them dependent on being rocked to sleep though.
    any tips?

At this age our daughters like sleeping in their bouncy chairs with the vibration on. They also liked being swaddled in the PNP with the vibration feature on. They didn't like to sleep in their crib until about 3 mos of age and we introduced it gradually. We started putting the bouncy seats in the crib so they'd get used to the space. Eventually they started sleeping in their cribs at naptime and then we took the bouncys out alltogether.

Right now you are in survival mode. IMO they are too young to develop preferences like being rocked to sleep every time. I wouldn't hesitate to use the swing to lull them to sleep at this age. It can be so trying some times when they are this young but it will pass.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I have never had a baby become spoiled from being rocked/held. Infact I think it's quite opposite. Giving them the attention/security they need now will enable them to become independent later. Hang in there.

I agree that they are way too young to develop bad habits, so you need to do whatever works! Have you tried reading/watching the Happiest Baby on the Block? That helped me a lot! best of luck to you!!

I would also have to agree that they are too young to be spoiled, we did what it took to get them to sleep. I would also second the recommendation for Happiest Baby on the Block, using the 5 S's helped us out.

I'll add a big ole ditto, you are still well into survival mode, if they'll fall asleep with rocking/swing, then do it! :D

I started my babes out in the crib so they were well used to it (side by side), but even so the first few months if they had a fussy night I'd let them sleep with me (well one with me and one with dh if needed). By about 3-4 months I had them sleeping all night in their crib on their own. You gotta do what works when you have twins, 90% of the "normal" rules go out the window! ;)

My boys slept in their infant carriers basically until 4 months when we gradually introduced them to cribs. Ryan didn't have any issues and if Jake had a bad night, he'd sleep in the swing. I have never been able to rock them to sleep in the rocking chair and even now prefer if I leave the room for them to fall asleep. No bad habits were developed.
