I was just wondering if you should be worried if you get cramps like you would if you needed to go to the bathroom. I have been getting them lately, but i know i dont have to use the bathroom. And with braxton hicks are they low like period cramps, or are they up near your belly button?

I have a 3 year old and i dont remember having any of this with his pregnancy

I'm not sure about the cramps like you have to go to the bathroom, but with the BH it was an all over belly hardening. And the cramping wasn't painful, just uncomfortable, and not concentrated to one area. I'd give your doctor a call if you have any concerns.

i'd heard sometimes you get cramping because the bladder can get squeezed or even blocked because of so little space down there! If its affecting urination that would seem to fit.
But Call your doctor just in case!!!!

I've had a few bouts of similar cramps - one night I actually thought I was having true contractions except they had no pattern and they went away within the hour, but man, they knocked me out for a while!

I asked my ob about this at my last appt and she said that it was just a baby (or two) moving into a position that was uncomfortable for me (ie, flipping, going transverse, etc.) I believe this, as they move CONSTANTLY and they're running out of room.

Sometimes when the babies make big movements, they feel a little like cramps but different from BH. Maybe you could be feeling that?

Last week I had similar cramping sensation in my lower abdomen. I did not go away and got worse so I called my doc and they made me come in. I ended up needed IV fluids...too dehydrated.

As far as BH contractions, it is a tight sensation all over your stomach and usually goes away in about a minute or less.
