    Hi ladies,

I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow and for about a week now, I've have been experiencing constrant AF type cramping and some lower back pain during the wee hours of the morning. The cramping subsides as soon as I get up in the morning - it's very strange. I don't remember having this type of cramping when I was pregnant with my son. Sorry if this is gross, but I am also having diarrhea on a daily basis and increased discharge. I'm thinking that I may be getting close. Anyone else experience this? I haven't really felt any contractions....just the AF type cramping in my pelvic region. I just hope that I can tell them apart. Thanks.

It definitely sounds like your body is getting ready!! Keep your doctor posted at your next appt. The cramping could be mild contractions starting to change your cervix...Good luck!!

I have been definatley having the same exact thing happening to me constant af cramping pains ..excess discharge.. diarrhea..I am only 34 weeks today..the stinky part is i go to an ob with 4 diff dr and 1 says its normal because im stretching ..the other put me on nefedipine and told me i should be on bedrest and another one said it was ok to continue intercourse with dh a long as im not dialating..but then today the dr i saw when i asked him when do u start checking my cervix he said they dont unless its necessary so how do i know if im dialating or not and if theese cramps could be the start...im soooo confused i am right along with u my dd is 14 and it was so different there was no cramping it was straight contractions aghhhh//anyway i have a level 2 ultrasound tomorrow with the more high tech dr.. im going to request they use the internal one to check my cervix. i wanna know if it has begun..its funny who begs for an internal..i must be loosing it

Sounds like you are getting close. The cramping, lower back pain, and diarrhea are all signs your body is getting ready.

I'm very glad you posted this because I am starting to have cramping too. I'm almost 33 weeks and have the cramping in the morning too. I go to the doctor tomorrow and will hopefully find out more then. But its nice to know that cramping is not totally abnormal!

same; the cramping had started the cervix to soften and dilate some--

Thank you so much ladies. So it sounds like what I'm experiencing is normal and that my body is just getting ready. I feel so much better now. At my appt. two weeks ago, they checked my cervix and said that it was short and starting to thin. Last week, I saw a different doctor who told me that it wasn't necessary to check my cervix again. I was kind of shocked. He said that if I went into labor within the next two weeks, they wouldn't stop it and that I would be fine. I should have pushed b/c it would have been nice to know if I was dilated at all. I did mention the cramping to him but he didn't seem too concerned. He also told me to cancel this week's appt. That they would just see me next week (36wks) for my NST and growth scan. Boy am I glad that I have you all to turn to. Thanks again!

I was like that a week and a half before labor started. I bet you are getting close! It is frustrating to not know how dilated you are. My husband is a physician assistant and actually checked for me a couple of times because I was SO SURE it was time! (He had the sterile gloves, the proper training, etc.) It came in handy for my peace of mind.

I've also been very crampy for weeks now. I lost my plug at 34 weeks and am still going.
