cramping and a backache

I got up this morning and felt good so I helped DH in the kitchen with breakfast, I couldn't have been up for more then 10 minutes (I'm on modified bedrest) and once I sat down I got this terrible lower backache and what feel like menstral cramps. I still have the backache and cramps, but it also feels like cramping and pains you get from gas. This is the first time I've gotten them and I'm not sure what to do because I'm not contracting so I don't think I need to take a terbutaline. In my little PTL packet from the hospital it says that these are symptoms of PTL....

I'm going to the hospital in a few hours for an NST so I'm wondering if I should just sit tight until then? Did anyone have what felt like menstral cramps and a backache and it turned out to be back labor or something like that? Thanks in advance!!

ETA: Just starting having contractions. I'm still 2 hours away from when I normally take my first dose of meds for the day...I usually don't have contractions this early, I'm just going to hang out here and time them for now. I'm just reluctant to call my doctor, FTM and everything, just not sure at what point I need to call...

Menstrual cramps, the feeling, and backache can be signs of PTL. When in doubt always call your OB. Keep us posted.

 

I'd call the doc ASAP. Those were my PTL signs, and baby A's water broke during a bout of it.

 

I would call too....especially now that you know you are contracting. Better to be safe than sorry!!
