Craig - The TTTS wiki and sticky

I got a PM from TTTSMiracleMom saying that Eric Barr's article on TTTS is full of errors and could be detrimental or even life-threatening to TTTS babies. She suggested we remove the article.

I don't know much about TTTS. Is there anyone we can get to "proof" the article to see if it is medically sound?

Can you write her back to say she has the ability to go in and edit it herself if she wants to provide proper sources? If she is as concerned about putting proper information out there as she appears to be, then she can make the effort to produce the changes she feels are needed.

 

I wrote back to her. We'll see what happens.

I think she's written me before too, by the way. I really don't care what the history is between her and Eric or the TTTS board and Eric (I know he had his enemies before), but just want to get the best information out there to the masses. This is a chance for her to help us provide that information and I hope she realizes that as opposed to claiming it should just be purged. Let us know what needs to be changed and then hopefully work on that herself.

 

Has anything become of this? She has been posting quite a bit in Expecting and sometimes she rubs me the wrong way, not sure if it is just how I am reading it though. With the time and effort that Eric put into that info I can't even imagine he would add anything life threatening so maybe my viewpoint on her changed a little after reading this?

Anyway, just wondering if she went ahead and offered any changes? I have been randomly checking what I think is the page where you can view the edits and I haven't seen anything but I don't check often so I definitely could have missed it. Who knows, I might not even be looking in the right place lol!

 

Nope, she hasn't done anything on it. I really don't know what she's alluding to specifically, but my thought is if it is that important to her, she could at least respond to our questions to her. So I'm ignoring her request since she hasn't answered my return email to her or I guess to your return PM.

Do you think she is looking for you to explain the 'how to' or she will figure it out on her own?

I'm not sure. I was thinking a couple of days ago to offer to help, if she wrote up the information. I will PM her again.

 

If she goes to that page and clicks edit, she'll see the original document and then it's really the same as retyping something in Word. I'd understand if she didn't want to fool around with special formatting, but if she thinks a paragraph has wrong information, she can just retype it.

I have admin tools to let me easily revert to the previous version so I'm not worried that she would mess up the file.
