    Hi ladies,

I was just curious how old are your children and what kind of crafts are you doing? I would like to start doing other things with my children when they turn one May 1st. What are some crafty things to do with children this young?

When did you start to experiment with crayons and side walk chalk?

    Any ideas are welcome.
    Thank you so much!

The boys got crayons yesterday in their Easter stuff. They got the Crayola Beginnings TaDoodles. So we are just starting with that.
I tried earlier and it didn't go well, they just wanted to eat stuff LOL

We probably tried crayons right around the age of 1. They tried to eat them at first! But after taking them out a few times, they don't even bother. Now they will "color" for about 5 minutes and then they are done with that. They got markers for Easter, as well as sidewalk chalk-so we'll be tackling those activities soon. Not to mention playdoh... We did try painting once, and that didn't go over too well!

The way I look at it-TRY IT! You just never know what's going to happen until you do! Don't worry about the mess that might happen-there's always soap and water and a good bath to fix all of that! :)

    Good advise. :)

We even tried painting with water at 1 and it was a huge success.... plus less mess ;) They got thick brushes, a cup of water each and the kitchen wall. :D I also used to cut scraps of different colored paper into any odd shapes, then give them each a large sheet of white paper. I would touch each bit of colored paper to a glue stick and hand it to them to paste on their sheet. Fun!

Thanks! :) That's a good idea with glue and paper. I may have to make a trip to Target(always an excuse to go there...) and get some construction paper and glue sticks!

Another good activity I have just found... Stripping wallpaper! :D

My girls also love crayons and sidewalk chalk! We got them fingerpaints but they don't like anything on their hands.
