What are your remedies for cradle cap? I've read that you can rub their head with oil and then scrub with a toothbrush. bur c'mon, who has time for that? i'm looking for maybe a good product.

My DS is a baldie, but the pedi recommended hydrocortisome cream and it worked like a charm, we have to apply it every other day to keep it from coming back, we just do it after his baths.

i know you can use this on the face but i would worry about steroid absorption when applying it over such a large area.

DS only has it in a few spots on his head, not the entire thing, maybe that's why the pedi said it was okay? I use about a pea sized amount every other day.

We use good old Sorbelene cream, I rub it in everyday and when I bath them I use a face washer to gently wash their hair, this lifts the cradle cap off. After they come out of the bath, I brush their hair with a baby brush. I found that this method helps the best in removing the cradle cap.

No magic here, but what I do is put baby oil on their head and let it soak in for an hour or so. Then at bath time I wash their heads with a soft cloth, not scrubbing, but with a bit of friction. Then after bath I brush their hair with a soft brush. DD is losing her hair and I think it might be due to the cradle cap, but I don't know what to do to stop or fix it. DS only has a few spots that are bad.

I HATE IT!! It is one of the most annoying things I have to deal with on my babies and I'll be glad when it goes away. When does it go away?????

Nothing! Our pedi told us to just leave it alone, it would go away on it's own. My kids didn't have it too bad, but my pedi was not a fan of using oil on the scalp, because she said it could cause clog hair follicles.

Our Ped recommended Selsun Blue shampoo. We used it twice and it was all gone.

Our ped recommended Head and Shoulders shampoo. It works great, just be careful of their eyes.

I used olive oil - rubbed a small amount on, let it sit for awhile, comb out the flakes, then washed their hair. Worked pretty good - I wasn't that vigilant about it - other things to worry about! :)

I used some baby oil and a brush and it literally took less than 10 min. My ds had it really bad too and it only took that one time of getting rid of it and it hasn't returned...thank god!
