What's the difference between cradle cap and extremely dry skin? Poor little Annelise has an incredibly scaly, dry feeling head. It's really bad on her bald spot on the back of her head, but also her forehead. She also has really dry skin on her arms and legs, but it's not scaly and flaky like her head. I lube her arms and legs up with Aquaphor each night before bed. It seems to be helping a little, but doesn't quite take care of it. I'm also putting it on her head a couple of hours before her bath. Any other ideas how I can take care of this?

Cradle cap was always sorta yellowish and on TOP of the skin for me (the bits that we had) and was easily taken care of with the cradle cap stuff they sell in the baby aisle. Green bottle - don't have a clue what the name of it was. Sorry!

    It's called Gentle Naturals.

My kids all had it. If you get some baby oil and a comb -- rub the oil all over the scalp with a cotton ball, then come out the dry parts until its all gone. Then rub baby wash on the head with water and comb it again to make sure and rinse it out.

My kids all have excema and we are still dealing with dry scalp at ages two and four.
