Has anyone had a couples shower? These are my husbands first two children and he is so excited, I would love for him to enjoy it as well. He is like a girlfriend to all of my friends anyways and I think it might be fun to have some of his friends too.

I had a couples shower!!! I think that the dad should be able to be there its just as special to them as it is to us carrying the babies

We did it at my insisting, and my DH really liked it. I told him to think of it as a party welcoming the baby. Plus, in his culture the child is considered more part of the extended family and the community anyways.

My dh came with me anyways, even tho it wasn't a "couples" shower. It was all family and close friends so it was all women he knew anyways! :D

My brother had a "guy shower" while my sister-in-law had her shower. The guys played "guy" games and each of the guys brought a box of diapers for a gift. My brother enjoyed it and that's the plan for us also. While I'm having my shower, Daddy will be having his "guy" shower. Both showers are going to be at the same time. Mine will be in one room and the
"guy shower" will be in another room, so we can all mingle if we want to. A plus is there will be plenty of men to carry the gifts!

We are going to have a couples shower. I do not like playing the games, so it will be just a party. When we open gifts, the boys will be outside doing their own thing.

Dh was at our baby shower and so were all the other husbands. It was mostly family though with just a few friends.

We moved into our 1st house when I was 6 mo. pregnant with the twins. We had a "housewarming/shower" and we basically had a cookout. We invited friends and family, so there were many guys there.

My mom/MIL threw me a traditional shower for all the aunts, cousins, family friends. Then my friends threw us a couples shower that was basically a party. No games or anything. DH and I opened all the presents together and the other guys got to eat and drink! It was a lot of fun and a great way to include the new dad-to-be!

We didn't call ours a couples shower, but DH was there and we invited both male and female friends. If I had a lot of girlfriends living nearby, we might have had a girls-only shower too, but most of our friends are couples (or guys) and it would have seemed really weird to just invite the women.

I will not be. I don't think my mom would go for it if I suggested it. My husband looked slightly uncomfortable when he dropped me off at my bridal shower and had to stay for a bit. My father couldn't wait to leave my bridal shower because as he put it, "I've been doing bridal shower crap all day." He won't even be coming with my mom and sisters for my shower.

We had a "family" shower. We did a cook-out and had the local football game on the big screen. We opened gifts during half time. However, I'm a football fan, so that didn't bother me. Kids were invited too and there was a pool in the back yard for anyone who wanted to partake. All the guys who were invited attended and said they really enjoyed it. How could they complain about burgers, beer and football? LOL!

It was nice and relaxing and just the way I wanted it. :good:

I think if partner wants to be apart of it, let them! This can be a lot of fun and as much as possible both sides should be allowed to fully enjoy. With that said, My partner would die!!! He would hate it!!! Have fun and do what you guys want!!!

We had a baby bash for everyone. We had a keg and the guys BBQ's while the ladies Showered! Unfortunately I was not able to attend because my girls were born the day before it was scheduled, but I heard that everyone had a great time!
