First question is the last few nights I have been having horrible cramps in my lower abdomen it is not off and on or consistent just horrible like period cramping, but way worse..I asked the nurse and she said it was just my body preparing and crap, but it scares the crap out of me I lay there and think ok is this it should I wake up DH..Is this normal? How am I supposed to know when it is the real thing?

Second question is starting the day I got pregnant and getting worse and worse everyday I am losing my eye sight I squint at everything and can barely see the TV. I have herd it comes with pregnancy and goes away, but it has been so long that I am getting worried that it will never go back to normal..Anyone else experience this?

Oh I just thought of one more while I am at it LOL My Dh is starting a job at a sight pretty far and he will have no cell service so it would be great if we could get a date from the doctor!! Every time I have mentioned scheduling in the past he blew me off do you think on my next one I will be far enough along for him to throw me a bone or do some doctors just dislike scheduling?

Whooo thanks I feel better now LOL

They should be able to tell you an approx. due date, are they not doing that?

As far as eyesight, go to the eye doctor now. It might get better, it might not. I have heard both.

    Good luck and congrats!

  3. I have a bunch of cramping at night too so bad that I have to get out of bed so that I don't wake any one with my tossing and moaning but they lead to nothing. This is my fourth pregnancy and I never had any BH contractions with my others. I was just telling my mom the other day how worried I was that I would not know when it was actually time since the pains seem to get stronger each night.

I had to get glasses with all my pregnancies but soon after the births My glasses were put away. Being pregnant stresses all parts of our bodies I guess.

And finally I could not get my doc to give me a date until now. Tomorrow at my appointment he is going to schedule my c-section for some time next week. I am 36weeks5days now and have been asking him for a few weeks now to give me a date I guess he just wanted to get closer.

You can kinda tell its labor by timing the contractions first, how long they last and how frequent. If they are longer than a minute and are like every few minutes, that's probably it. Maybe time a few before you wake up DH and then have him time a few. If they are more frequent than what your dr says to come into for then deffinatly go. Some drs say 4 or more, mines 6.

Eyesight, I haven't had any problems (yet...) but I've read in pregnancy books that that's normal. I had some problems towards the end when I was pregnant with my son but it went away for the most part.

Some drs are a little hesitant with scheduling. Are you scheduling an induction or c-section? It also depends on how your dr feels about delivering twins, some like mine want to try and let your body go through naturally and try vaginally if possible. Others just want to go with a c-section.

Honestly, if you feel they aren't normal, maybe a trip to the triage would put your mind at ease. :hug99: Yes, the body does do things and some pain is associated with all this change, but if you feel it isn't right, go to the hospital. It's better to be safe and know things are okay.

:hug99: I'm sorry about this. I didn't experience this so I have no advice or suggestions.

Some don't like to schedule them too early. I know my doctor wouldn't schedule anything until I was 38 weeks! I guess unless they see a reason they might want them out earlier or if you were having issues, some don't like scheduling alot in advance. Have you told him your situation? Maybe if he knew what you and dh were dealing with he'd be more open to setting up a date?

Haha, I feel so dumb about the whole BH contractions thing (first pregnancy for me). What exactly is it that we are supposed to be counting? Does it need to be painful for it to be something to be counted? Or, is it the painless tightenings of the whole abdomen that I keep track of? I too have had the cramping for the past week (I am 31 weeks) and was told it was BH contractions, and to keep track of it. However, it's not something that you can really quantify-it just feels like really bad period cramping. It is strong enough that it wakes me up during the night. So what is it exactly that we are supposed to count to see if there are more than 4-6 per hour?

    Hi there!!

My eyesight definitely changed during pregnancy, it hasn't quite gone back to what it was prior to being pregnant (bummer, because I had Lasik 2 years ago!) but it is tolerable. I did get a pair of glasses while I was pregnant for watching TV and driving which helped out :)

My Dr. set my c-section date when I was at my appointment at around 33-34 weeks. We set it for 38 weeks (actually 37.5) ~ My Dr. liked to see how I was progressing during those last couple of months before setting the date. I am sure they will set it soon for you!

As for the cramping, if you feel unsure at all give your Dr. a call ~ that is what they are there for!!

    Good luck!

I have had the cramping (painful, like menstrual cramps) all throughout this pregnancy as well as the last. Lately it has been getting to the point where I have to take some deep breaths to get through it. I told my OB at my 28 week appt. and she checked my cervix (long and closed) and told me to pay attention to them and count (which is impossible), drink tons of water, and take it easy. She got a urine sample and I did have a UTI, but she told me if there ever was any doubt to just come into L&D and get checked out. She thought that it was pretty normal in this stage of the pregnancy though as the uterus is holding a lot of weight and is getting pretty strained.
