Hi, my boys will be 3 weeks old this wednesday. I cant believe how quick time is going! I think tommorrow they will be asking for the keys to the car! Anyway, at their 2 week appt Micah weighed 8 Pd 7oz and Makana weighed 8 Pd 8 oz. Both seem perfectly healthy. Breastfeeding is going well though around 7pm they are nonstop eaters and wear me out!! So, I was wondering how long the bleeding down there goes on for? I think with my first son i only bled for a week. This time I stopped bledding at 1 week but then had sex- (I know, I should have waited longer) and 2 days later the bleeding started again. Its now nealry 3 weeks and I still have to wear a pad. There is no pain or anything else unusual. I did have a c-section if that makes a difference. By the way, for those of you that had c-sections how long did it take for your stomach to look "normal" or at least not pregnant looking? I got asked yesterday if I was pregnant. errrr..oh, and when did you start excercising?

hmmmm i had a csection too and bled for 4 weeks, but i didn`t have sex till about 8 weeks post partum--i had problems with my uterus bleeding quite a bit during the surgery and then it wouldn't shrink at the rate it was supposed to due to some major blood clots in there, but with meds all was well within a few weeks

since you had a csection, i´d say call your ob and ask if it´s normal, or could be something is wrong....

ETA: unless you call breastfeeding, getting up at all hours of the night, picking up babies, and now chasing them around the house all day long exercise, i STILL haven't started--but i'm really close now (i've been saying that since january! LOL)

    Wow, sex already......kudos to you!

I bled for a good 3-4 weeks mostly spotting. Then it went away and I just got my period but I stopped bf 3 months ago!

As far as belly, I have the pizza dough belly even though I am my exact pre-pregnancy weight. It is different for everyone really. I think with bf'ing you loose it quicker.

Exercise I think they want you to wait 8weeks but you can always call and ask or just wait for your 6 week pp appt.

I know what you mean about the "are you pregnant" thing. I wasn't THAT big a couple of weeks after but I was getting out of the car taking them to the pedi and the guy asked if I was having a boy or a girl? WHAT??? I have one of each right here, he said Oh thought you were pregnant??!!!

I had a c-section and bled for at least 6 weeks (was still bleeding at my 6 wk. appt, but done by 8 wks.). I am just amazed that you had the energy after one week!!!!!! You are my hero. :girl_devil: After a week I was still hunched over 24/7 from my c-section pain. My stomach does not look normal three years later. I have a large flap that rolls over my incision and lots of twinskin. Oh well. I did not start exercising until they were a few months old.

(I hope it was okay, but I took out the 8P for you!)

You won't want to hear this, but I bled for 11 weeks. I finally stopped last week after I was put on the mini pill.

thanks for the replies. Its good to know that the bleeding still is pretty normal. But its not so good to know that the skin may be forever!! oh well, its worth it. As for having sex- Its only because my husband feared to get intimate for the last 5 months of pregnancy and now that i'm not pregnant and have a big bb he's all over me. lol, its nice to finally be wanted physically. Although lights off till the stomach looks a little more decent...and ha ha, DH always said that he wasnt into big bb but now that I have them, he's all over them. Oh men!! Just wait till he sees what they're like after breastfeeding!

    Those are great weights :)

Not sure about the bleeding. Just over 2 weeks here and still bleeding and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Vaginal delivery here. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.

that last comment got me thinking. Since I had a c-section and didnt dilate wouldnt my cervix be closed? Isnt that why you cant swim, have sex, etc...because the cervix is still open and therfor get infected? but if one never went into labor (scheduled c-section) then do you still have to wait weeks to swim?

    Hi!

I just stopped bleeding last week at 7 weeks PPD. As an avid runner I couldn't wait to get back into
it and got cleared at my six week checkup. However, after ten weeks on bedrest and a c-section,
I have had to take it slow. I am within 5 lbs of my pre pregnancy weight, but am a little disappointed
with my stomach. My OB suggested using a stability ball to help strengthen my abs which I have been using for two weeks now. Hopefully, I'll see some results soon. At thev end of the day, my beautiful little peanuts are worth some extra skin!!

    Beth
