Couldn't possibly be showing this early!

With the twins, I started gaining weight very early. By 3 weeks I went up a pants size blaming my dh's Artichokes (made with 4 sticks of butter!) With DS I was showing and in maternity clothes by 3 months, by two months I needed a pants extender. So when I got dressed today and looked at myself in the mirror, I was horrified! My stomach is huge and I'm a little bit overweight but not that much. I'm showing a side by side comparison of only a few weeks. One of me on Christmas morning and one taken today. In both I'm wearing the same style nursing tank. Is it me??

At delivery with the babies I measured 60 weeks pregnant, is it possible that its just used to expanding that quickly and is just going or am I imagining things?

    Hi Erykah,

First of all, I don't think you are one bit overweight! You look gorgeous!!

Second, wow, that's a quick pop for a 6 week belly, even if you did have twins before! Have you had an ultrasound or anything? Not to freak you out, but could it be twins again?!?

But , it is also possible that you are just retaining a bit of water this week...that happens too and can give the appearance of a slightly pregnant belly (which would be exaggerated, I guess, if you really are pregnant!).

Definetly not twins, she did a very thorough ultrasound... so you notice the pooch and its not my imagination? DH says that its possibly mental but how could I grow that much seemingly overnight? It could be water retention, I didn't think about that!

    Congratulations on the pregnancy!!!!!

I started showing a little as well that early. I'm still squeezing in my normal everyday clothes, but will change very soon. I also think it could be water retention. From weeks 7-10 I didn't feel like I grew at all. I feel I looked the same since 6 weeks (i.e. blame it on water retention). At my 3 month appt at the office, I was very much looking forward to hearing the heartbeat, because I didn't think I grew that much in weeks. You may experience the same thing. I'm really happy for you and your family, I hope you have a healthy pregnancy!!!!

Are you kidding me?? You look wonderful! I have to say, I'm in the same boat...almost 16 weeks and everyone is telling me how huge I am (how rude!!)

As for you...water retention/bloating may be it, I bloat a lot in the beginning of pregnancies...and then after 8 weeks or so, I actually feel smaller...everyone always said I was imagining it when I was pg with Grace( with the twins I was huge plain and simple)...this time, everyone is agreeing that I'm huge...hmmmm?

Congrats on the pregnancy, I wish you the best!!

Erykah there is know way you are overweight. You look wonderful!!!!!!!!!

I started showing early this pregnancy and I am pretty big already for almost 20 weeks. Dr's only found one baby here also. I thought maybe it was from being bloated and stuff early in pregnancy but it hasnt gone away just keeps growing. Some of us just show early I guess and the fast that we have had twins before we are a little "stretched" out could be the reason. You look great !!

I'd-a slapped that woman! How rude! Some people, I swear. No on/off button. Their motor mouths are always on~ haha.

In response to the original message, I think you look great! I too am starting to stick out. All of my pants are getting snug around the waist. I think that it's a combination of water retention and too much eating for me though :) I eat to help the nausea, and I don't always make healthy food choices. I started taking belly pics last week so I will show a compare/contrast soon.

You look great!! It could definitely be water or bloating. I heard that is what make most people grow early on, but then it goes back down after a bit. On the flip side, they say the more you have the weaker your muscles are and the quicker you show. I was one of those people who could wear regular pants until 20-22 weeks. This time around there is NO WAY that was happening. I swear my belly is HUGE. At 25 weeks I feel so much bigger than at 25 weeks with the twins or with Peyton. I think for me, with girls I carry everywhere (read, grow sideways, lol). With this one, it looks like a basketball under my skin. Something I am NOT used to.

You look great! I felt huge and it was twins, but I think it was a lot of bloating.
