Couldn't have done that a year ago!

This morning, DH had to leave for work before the girls and I were totally ready to go to daycare. We had snow last night (yeah, I know  -- but it will be melted by afternoon), and I forgot to go clean off my car while DH was still home. So without a second thought, I just said "I'm going to clean off my car, I'll be right back" and popped outside to do it. It wasn't until I was coming back in that I realized that a year ago, I would never have trusted them in the house alone for 5 minutes. But they were both just waiting for me right inside the door (although one of them had removed her socks & shoes :D ). Some things do get easier as they get older!

YAY! I love when they can listen. What a difference a year makes.

A few more years and you'll be able to send THEM out to clean off the car while you wait inside! :p

True, Alden. Some of this stuff does get better and easier (and then you try to potty train! )

oohhh, you give me hope. My girlies are almost 2. I left the room the other the day to wash some dishes for less than 5 minutes and they had both moved their little chairs over to the gate that blocks the stairs and were trying to straddle it!!!!I didn't even know how to respond!!! Needless to say, I confiscated the chairs and gave a time out that they thought was so funny!!!!!
    Secretly inside I was laughing!

It is amazing how they have matured. I have taken them to the playground a couple times this Spring, and I can actually be one of "those" moms just sitting on the bench watching her children! Last year, I was hovering over them, afraid someone was going to wind up with a concussion. I also took a shower (albeit very quick) a few days ago and just left them in the living room. I would have never done that before!

Oh, how dreamy....a shower that doesn't have to coincide with their uber-short naptime!
