Could this be a sign of teething?

One of my boys has been drooling for weeks now. He's been chewing on his hands and anything else in sight, too.

I haven't thought much of it until 3 days ago,(since I don't see or feel a thing in his mouth) when all of a sudden he started to eat much less. He would take the cereal with a spoon over a bottle any day now! And he cries a lot at night (I mean every half an hour) even in his sleep. He's been having "night sweats" and broke out in a rash yesterday.

I am taking him to the doctor tomorrow, but until then if anybody has similar experiences, it would be nice to know that it could be "only" teething.

Well, the drooling & chewing definitely sound like teething & he is definitely at that age. But the night sweats & the rash sound more like a virus of some kind to me.

I agree with Tina. Sounds like a little virus. I hope the Ped can shed some light on it for you.

I have been going through the exact same thing, except my twins had vomitting for two days and diarrhea for over a week. So i am thinking virus or one of them is beginning some early teething. I too am going to the doctor tomorrow, let me know how you make out.

Thank you ladies for keeping up with me. I had a rough night/day, my 6 year old came home from school yesterday vomitting off the hook, having a fever and overall feeling very yucky. She has strep, so today we all went to the doctor.

Well as to little Eddie, it's neither. They were heat rashes. And I'm like a dummy did not even recognize them. Anyhow, I am just glad it's nothing else.

    Again, thank you.

I got a note home from my kids' preschool that strep throat is in the building. I am glad it's nothing else. HOpefully your oldest doesn't share.

    Hi
I am new to the form I have 5 month twin girls and they are going the same thing. They have a rash under the chin area so I am using Aquaphor and it made a huge difference they are drooling so much the area is always wet and never get air because their neck are short . I hope this helps, I also use Hylands teething tablets they dissolved quickly.
