So I am giving milk first thing when they wake up .Then an hour later they eat their breakfast which is usually cereal with different fruit and ground nuts. I have tried pancakes, toast, eggs but no luck.DS would eat some , DD is not interested in any kind of bread.I reserve cherrios for snacks.

Oh DD does not drink milk, so I have to hide it in yogurt or cereals.

My questions is-do you give them milk after they wake up or you give them "real "breakfast?
I am ready to try different aproach but not sure if they would eat solids first. When they get up they seem so hungry and drink milk/eat yogurt(DD) ok and then eat cereal 1 hour later fine too.

    Any advice?

I usually give them their milk with their breakfast...what they've been doing since about 16-17 months is drinking about half the milk, eating their breakfast and then about an hour later, finishing off the milk. I think it really depends what works best for the kids. You could always switch it up and try breakfast first and see how they handle it and handle getting milk later.

Mine drink theirs with their meals...have been since we cut bottles out at 11 months. Same as itsnancycozzi they usually drink 1/2 and then finish it off an hour or 2 later:)

We give it with the meal, but they usually finish it after the meal.

I only offer milk with meals and snacks (and at bedtime), and take it away when they're done eating. The exception to this is on some weekends, when we feel like a pancake-extravaganza; I'll give them their milk first and let them run around while we make food, then give them breakfast when we're done. Otherwise, it's wake, diaper change, downstairs for milk and breakfast, then playtime.

I agree with PPs that it doesn't hurt to change things around and see if it works a little better for you (and them).

    Good luck!
