Could it be going TOO good? (a "non-vent")

Hello all in the First year, Glad to finally be joining you. I feel like I have to share how great I have been feeling and I hope it doesnt come out sounding like a brag! My baby girls are now 10 days old and life could not be better. Nursing is going so so so awesome and I feel like I have the best "high" all day long (from the hormones maybe??) These lil ones were five weeks early so maybe those with premies could tell me what I am in for. But for the time being these have been literally the easiest babies I have ever been around. Bringing my singleton home was way more tramatic, I also suffered PPD the 1st time 'round so I am just amazed at how things are going. So my question is am I "in for it" in the next few weeks after the girls catch up on growth? Are they just being so good now because it is typical of premies? The only down side of this whole week has been that one of my older girls is getting a cold and I have become a complete "OCD germaphobe"!! But I have to state again as I have in past posts... God is so Good!! I am so glad I could share with you all... let me in on all the info. you ladies have! Thanks for listening to my "Non-venting"!! LOL

That's wonderful! It sounds like you're on a high. It is such a euphoric feeling to bring your babies home after welcoming them into the world. I remember being SO happy in those first weeks (even though I was getting no sleep!), and I still feel that happiness when I look at my girls every day.

That's great nursing is going so well. I think that's the biggest source of stress among new twim moms!

You asked if you are "in for it" later ... Well, in a few weeks they might wake up more and need to be held more. Just stay calm and follow their lead. I often held one in a sling and the other in my arms in those early days.

    God IS good!

I too was worried that things were going "too well"...As it turns out, I just have very easy going babies! I kept waiting for something to change because they don't cry and they love to sit around and watch the world. It's been almost 5 months now and things are still great. My first two weren't like this either. I think it's like winning the lottery...TWICE!

I had PPD with my oldest and I remember being elated almost after the birth of my DD Emma. She was a very easy baby (unlike my oldest) and I had the added bonus of having some idea of what was going on. I had the same thing happen after the birth of the twins, they are pretty easy babies. Sean was a bit colicky but that only lasted for 6 weeks. [IMG]

Enjoy your high! You deserve to feel so happy! It's such a blessing to have twins. I hope you have continued success. [IMG]

I'm glad it's going so well for you!! They sleep so that they can grow. It's really important in preemies especially. Once they hit their due date, they might be a little more difficult but let's hope you just have easy going kidlets!

I'm glad you're having such a good time!
My babies were also 5 wks early and are really very easy. They got a little more fiesty around their due date, but no colic or other complicated problems that swaddling and rocking couldn't handle.
Keep enjoying them and thanks for sharing your happy thought!

That is so good to hear,. I know the feeling of "waiting for the ball to drop",. but sometimes it just doesn't. we've all had our share of hard times,. enjoy this because I believe God does want us to be happy. Reminds me of that verse,.. "we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed",. (forgive me if i'm off a little on that) [IMG]
