I'm sorry about the coughing!! I heard honey works really well. Maybe your ped has some other suggestions, gl!

I also second the honey. I try to elevate the mattress and use Pedia Vapors in the room too in an effort to reduce coughing. It can't hurt to also ask your pedi for any other suggestions. I hope Mr. B feels better soon

I hope poor Benjamin is feeling better. Did you find something that worked?

We did the honey last night for my daughter and then I gave her oral gel (teething gel) this helps to numb the throat and it worked immediately !!!

We survived the night of coughing! He didn't really wake up at all, just laid there and coughed. . . poor guy. . . his brother on the other hand DID wake up because of brother's coughing. And the next day Mr. B didn't cough once. . . and that night his BROTHER was the one who was coughing ;o(
I can't wait until flu season is over! I've had about all I can take of runny noses and such!

With the honey, how do you give it to them? I was diluting it in warm apple juice but I'm thinking that wasn't working. . .

I think you're supposed to give it straight, so it can coat the throat and soothe it. Will your guys take it off a spoon or in a dropper?

That's funny because when my guys had an upper respiratory infection a few weeks ago, the one who was coughing also didn't wake up. :pardon: They took turns coughing all night (keeping *us* up), but seemed to sleep just fine.

I've given my guys a teaspoon of buckwheat honey (in a dropper), but it just seemed to wind them up and didn't give them any relief. But I have heard good things about it, so it can't hurt to try.

Hope your boys are feeling better soon!

My son had a cough for a few days that went away, but it was waking him up in the morning. The pedi recommended Zyrtec. I've given it to him for 3 nights and he stopped coughing! You might want to ask your doc about it.
