I am not great cook, let me be honest- I hate cooking. My mom was chef in the restaurant so she loved to cook and we always had prepared food at home when I was growing up. She is visiting us now and has been cooking for all of us. But she is leaving at the end of february and since I am SAHM I need to cook for my twins.
Please recomend any cook book for toddlers that help you with cooking. I am looking into book that possibly have meal planner for a week and easy make recipes.
    Thanks.

I've been using a service called Relish ( www.relishrelish.com ) for about a month now. It is fabulous. It's like $7/month and each week they ave 15 recipes for you to choose from. Once you pick your five, it creates a whole itemized shopping list for you, plus all the recipes in a PDF to print out. I LOVE the shopping list, I don't criss-cross the store any more because everything is organized by aisle (meat, poultry, dairy, asian etc.) You're also able to search through the rest of the recipes on the site, but you can't put them in your shopping list automatically.

Most of the recipes are pretty straight forward and don't take a ton of time ( like 30 minutes of prep, more to cook). Most also are pretty kid friendly. There's nothing super ground breaking about them, but there is a nice variety of cooking styles.

Each month they have a freezer menu as well, so you can spend a couple hours on a Sunday and put together a bunch of stuff to keep in your freezer.

I decided just to try it out for 3 months (the shortest subscription), but so far, I'm sold on it.

Wow, that sounds really neat; I may look into this! I don't mind cooking, but I have zero time when I get home from work. We eat an embarassing amount of rotisserie chicken. :FIFblush:

    Thanks for the suggestion!

Wow, that web site is great!
I'm not a cook, but I'm organized. Some things you can do is cook their meals ahead of time and keep in the fridge. For example, every few days I boild their pasta (whole wheat ravioli), peas/carrots, scrambled eggs, chicken fingers, etc. And keep them in glass containers. So everynight I just reheat the amount I need and serve with cheese, bananas, etc. That gets me through the work week. I introduce them to new things by giving them things from our dinner like broccoli, chicken, etc.

You don't need a toddler cookbook - not at all. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

    1. Firstly - what are you eating?

Unless you eat crap every day, feed them what you are eating.

Keep it simple silly :) You don't need to be a chef to serve up good nutritious meals to your kids.

When you cook chicken for example - cook a lot and put the rest in the fridge or freezer. Piece of cake to pull it out for a meal. You can do the same with brown rice, quinoa (look it up it is so good for you), etc, etc.

Baked chicken, steamed veggies, brown rice, fruit & yogurt - an easy delicious meal can be on the table in 5 mins flat.

    3. Visit the Cooking Forum. We will help you meal plan, find recipes you like, offer cooking tips to make your life easier. It is full of women who love to cook. There is a wealth of knowledge available to you.

Look forward to "talking" to you there!

What a great site! Thanks for sharing! I just contacted the company because I was wondering if they offered gluten free options. They got right back to me and gave me this website (for any of those that are interested: gfreecuisine.com

They gave me the code "trial" to enter for 1 week free, I'm not sure if it will work on the 'relish' website, but thought I'd post it anyway!

I also agree the cooking forum is great too!

THanks for asking this great question!
