convertible car seats

They got weighed and measured today and ds is 27" and dd is not far behind. So we need to get them convertible car seats but which one is the best for the money? I have no idea what to get and dh usually looks to me to find out these things. Thanks in advance.

I know from previous posts, that many recommend the Britax brand. They are highly rated and recommended. Check out http://www.elitecarseats.com and they not only sell the car seats, but there are also helpful reviews. HTH

 

We LOVE our Britax Marathon car seats. We are still using them today and my boys are 4.5. They are comfortable, easy to install, and the straps do not get twisted up.

On a side note; they did not fit in our Honda Civic rear facing.

The FP seat is made by Britax. It's the same shell as the Marathon but without some of the "extras". Both of these will harness your kids to higher weights & heights than most other seats, so you shouldn't have to buy more seats until your kids are ready for boosters. We had an Evenflo Triumph for my oldest. He outgrew it right when he turned 3 & is in a Marathon now. We still use the Triumph for one of the babies...it's a good, safe seat, it just didn't last us to booster age.

 

We have Graco Comfortsports. They were rated pretty highly in the Baby Bargains book, and we received them at our shower. They've worked great for us so far, and I think they are $80-$90.
