For the past month, I've been researching car seats for my boys. Our infant carriers have a length limit of 26in and we're at 24 right now. I want to be ready. Unfortunately the Britax seats are not an option for us ($$$) so we are looking at the Evenflo Triumph Advance DLX. We went to BRU yesterday and I don't think it's going to fit in my car! Does anyone have a Rav 4 (or know someone who does) who has a convertible car seat that fits in it? If so, what kind is it?

    Thank you guys!

I don't have a RAV 4, but I do have the Evenflos. I had the Britax originally, but returned it when I wasn't overly impressed with it & then got the Evenflo. The Evenflo fit WAY better in my van than the Britax, so I know they're smaller than those. Any rear facing convertible takes up room, but thus far, the Evenflos don't appear to be taking TOO much.

Maybe ask the store if you can try it in your car before buying it? I've heard of other people doing that, although we never did. I'm curious to see how the Evenflos fit in my husband's Accord. We're installing his this weekend when we get our 2nd set.

    GL!

    Megan,

I don't have a RAV-4, but figured I'd tell you that the Triumph Advance DLX takes up less room (front to back) than our Graco Snugrides did. I just switched about a week ago and realized I can move the front seats further back with the new carseats. So... if you happened to have Snugrides and they fit in your RAV-4, the Evenflo's should fit. Oh - we have the Evenflo's rear facing. I think front facing they'll take up even less front to back room.

Also, we love those new car seats. My girls seem so much more comfortable in them. The straps are really easy to use and tightening them is wonderful. I feel like an advertisement for the Evenflo car seats, that's how much I like them!

We have the Evenflo seats and just installed them into my Toyota Matrix this weekend (much smaller than the Rav 4). They take up the entire backseat (no one can fit in the middle), but they fit! My tiny car just got tinier! Now, if you are tall and need lots of leg-room, it might not work because you can't have the front seats back very far. Luckily, neither my husband nor I are very tall and we fit in the front seats just fine.

The babies love them - they are higher up than the infant seats and can see out the window.

    Best of luck,
    Jessica

Thank you all! Our boys have Evenflo "On My Way" carriers right now and I think are smaller than the average seat. The handles rub on the back of the passenger seat (where DH sits). I can drive my car, but DH is uncomfortable doing so. He's 6ft and I'm 5'3. Since we will have the seats for so long, I know we will be doing at least one move with it and need it to work for both drivers. I know it will be great once we turn it around, so I think this weekend, I'm going to go to BRU (hopefully without the boys) and try it into the car. I still really want the Evenflos so hopefully it will work!

I have a RAV4 (a few years old so smaller than the newer ones) and I have the evenflo triumph seats. They fit in the car fine and i really like them! They take up less space, front to back, then my graco snugrides. The seats are great and you have any problem getting them to fit. Buy em!

Although I love Britax seats, we rented a RAV4 once in Colorado and were able to fit the Marathons rear facing without a problem. My guess is you should be fine with the Evenflos too since the Marathons are huge.

Here's a pic. My oldest is in a Saferider Travel Vest, but normally she's in a Radian 65.

I did it! A very nice BRU employee brought out the Triumph and the Titan to test in my car. The Titan was flush against the front seat (which was in a very upright position). The Triumph fit!! I bought two and am very proud of my discounts! I used the $10 off car seat coupon (making it the same price as online), then got the twin 10% off each seat, plus an additional 15% off one of the seats! Hooray! It will probably be a few weeks before we break them out, but I'm so happy to know that we have them!

Thank you all for your help! I don't know what I'd do without you!

We ran into this issue too. We have a Honda CRV, which is almost the same exact size as a Rav4. All the seats I wanted/could afford would not fit in the rear-facing position. We ended up with Britax Roundabouts, and we asked Grandma and Grandpa is they would buy one of them as their Christmas gift to the babies. We really love them now.
