I've started looking at convertible car seats and have a few questions. I want one that they can use for awhile. Preferably as long as possible, so I don't have to buy another two. And I need them to fit next to each other (side and middle) in the back seat of my SUV, hopefully leaving enough room on the other side for my son's booster seat. He HAS to sit next to them and won't sit in the third row. And of course, it has to be safe. I've been looking at the Britax, but they look wide. And the more narrow ones don't have good reviews - heads falling forward while sleeping, twisting straps, etc. So what does everyone else have?

Take a look at THISone. We just got them and can fit 3 across in the back seat. They've got great safety ratings, are easy to use and go up to 65 lbs (they also make an 80 lb version). HTH [IMG]

I tried to look at it but it told me "You have not been given the permission(s) to access this page. You require the following rights to view this page: 'View Content (This Forum)'. This is the type that we have. It was recommended to me by a friend. I have a minivan, so I am not sure about the space. They are nice seats though! [IMG]

this is the seat that we have here. although the straps were hard to figure out at first, once you get the hang of them, we lvoe the seat. we have them side by side and there is enough room for another person to sit beside them. there are also some cup and toy holders that hook on the side. they're relativily inexpensive as well... Good luck in your search.

we have the Britax Roundabouts. I just went through what you are going through about 3 weeks ago. I needed 2 convertible seats to fit side by side in the backseat of my Ford Explorer and, of course, I wanted them to be safe. These are very highly rated safety-wise and they do fit beside each other in my backseat. Hope this helps! I got them from albeebaby.com - free shipping!

We just recently bought the Britax Roundabouts b/c they got the best reviews as far as safety. They are nice and the girls really like them. We are using them as rear-facing b/c they arent quite 20lbs yet.

We went with Britax. Review after review, Britax seems to make the best seats. We didn't go with roundabout and instead went with Marathon since Marathon went to 65lbs instead of 40lbs Roundabout. We haven't started using them yet... once we get our new car we will.

Does any one have issues with the Cosco brand seats, with the straps twisting or the babies heads falling forward while sleeping? I had a Cosco for my son in my husband's truck and whenever he slept, his head was always flopping forward. What about the Britax owners - anyone have this prob? I am leaning toward the Britax, I think its the Decathalon - but as expensive as it is, I want to be sure.

Ditto on Britax Marathons as they last longer than the Roundabouts as they are bigger and wider though. Also I have heard lots of raves about the Radian by Sunshine kids. I think its narrower than the Marathon but lasts longer height and weight wise than the Roundabout.

FWIW, I fit 2 Marathons RF and FF and a GracoTurbo Booster in the middle seat of dh's suburban [IMG] But i have bucket seats in the middle row of my honda odyssey. So the boys are in the middle row and dd is in the back row in her booster.

I have 2 Britax Marathons in a minivan. They look very comfortable and the babies seem happy in them.

We just bought the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 convertible seats and they seem to work pretty well right now. We haven't used them much but the boys seem comfy in them and they were relatively easy to get into the car.
