I am having what I think are contractions. I called the doctor and they scheduled me an appointment for tomorrow, but said if it gets worse just to come in. It feels like tightening of the stomach. Could it just be the babies trying to get more room? I will keep everyone updated. For the time being until my appointment tomorrow I have basically put myself on bedrest! Any ideas would help! Thanks!

Sounds like it definitely could be. Drink tons of water and keep an empty bladder. Lay down flat on your side and see if they subside. I know the doc said wait until tomorrow, but I would definitely go in today if the water/rest does not seem to curb things.

    Keep us updated.

I agree.. I would go in if they don't stop..that being said.. I find myself having them more and more these days because I am having a hard time limiting what I do. Seems like if I lay down and drink lots of water they stop pretty quickly.. these babies sure do have a way of telling us to slow down.

This seems to work for me- all of the above. I had them last night- once I ate that seem to help too.

i was in my dr today too.. i've had low dull aching back pain for the last few days.. this morning i got out of the shower, and i had sharp crampy pains down low.. and my belly is really hard its like the babies are pushing up on top... but... they're not since only one is head up... the other is on its side. They gave me some sort of pill to stop the cramps... if i still have them in 2 days or pressurei have to go back in... My cervix is still good.. Bett3er be safe than sorry, alot morestuff can go wrong with double the babies

My contractions started at 19 weeks as well. Definately a tightening of the stomach, not really painful tho. Like the others said, drink lots of water & try to keep emptying your bladder. Are they happening more than 4x in one hour? That's kinda what they base it on. If you contract more than that, they typcially want to see you right away to get them stopped. Try not to worry (easier said than done.)

So far from this afternoon I really haven't had anymore contractions. I have been laying down and drinking lots of water. Everytime I feel like I need to pee I go. Really can't wait to get to the doctor tomorrow. I rented a Professional heartbeat doppler and did the heartbeats today and both babies were registering 154. so that is good. I will keep everyone updated! Thanks for the responses.

Now on a different note, do I ask hubby to come with me to the doctor?
