Has anyone experienced a good deal of BH contractions without being in labor? We have had more than 6 an hour many times, have been checked out and assured it is not PTL. Sometimes the contractions are so bad that they'll start with just the slightest movement and they do not go away from more drinking or less activity... anyone experienced just a bunch of contractions all the time? We're 30w1d and have had to previous vaginal deliveries. What about you?

I am 35 weeks and have been having BH since 15 weeks. Mine can get as close as every 2-3 minutes and was instructed to take Procardia if they occur more than 6/hr. I was probably not as compliant as I should have been with this as I am a L & D nurse and the meds made me feel horrible so once they got that close, I would drink a ton of water and lie down and they would usually subside to 4-6 per hour (I don't however recommend being non-compliant like me). We also did cervical length checks every 2 weeks with my ultrasounds so my doctors were a little less worried about the frequency of mine. I would follow the advice of your doctor on when to come in as I have learned on here, twin pregnancies can change in a heartbeat and you should always be more cautious than not. Good luck!

I have the same thing. It's so frustrating, because I never know what to think, if I should be worried, or just ignore it. I have had 6-7 in an hour too. I try to lay down and drink a ton of water, but sometimes they still keep coming. On Easter I slid down my mom's stairs and fell on my butt. I had a bunch of contractions, so I went in to L&D and the gave me turbutaline (sp?) I have had two FFT's since then and they were both negative. My cervix is also perfect, closed and long. My OB is sort of like, if you feel worried, don't hesitate to call. I'm always worried! LOL! I probably didn't help with that rant at all, but know that you aren't alone.

Starting at 32 weeks, I had BH contractions every 4-7 minutes. The first time they were caught was when I was having a NST. I was admitted, but never dilated. My doctor just said some people just have more than others. My girls were delivered at 36 weeks 5 days and I never was on bedrest.

I've had random BH this time since week 11.
At around 28-30 weeks they started showing up every evening.
From 30-33 weeks they were coming up to every 2-3 minutes every evening.
Now at 35 weeks they're pretty much all day long. But get more frequent in the evenings, like before.

Apparently my cervix is made of steel because it never shortens and I never dilate. At all. Didn't with my 2 singletons either. With my first I came in after hours and hours of agony but 0cm dilated. So I don't worry about all my BHs this time, at all.

Around 20 weeks, I had them everyday, all day. I drank 50 litres of water a day and it never helped. My doctor said it was just uterine irritablily even though I swore I was in pre-term labor all the time, I never was and had a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks.
