I am 36 weeks with B/G twins and had been put on Procardia for preterm contractions at 33 weeks. Last week on Thursday I had contraction every 4 min that were getting more intense. After 3 1/2 hours we went into triage L/D, they admitted me, upped my procardia dose and freqency, but my cervix was 1, 50% effaced and baby A -1 station. The contractions did not improve after 2 days and they finally stopped the Procardia and let labor role- a day later it stopped on it's own and they let me go home after some begging. I was told to come back when the contractions were every 3 min for 1 hr. Yesterday they were every 2-3 min for 2 hours and we again headed in only to find still at a 1, < 50% effaced and still very painful unprogessive labor. They wanted to keep me-I pleaded to go home (those beds are so uncomfortable!) and I can distract myself from the pain better at home. I told the doc I am only coming in if my water breaks or I have pink/bloody show. I feel so humiliated everytime I go in there to find no progress! How long can this really go on? I lost the rest of my mucous plug Monday evening-that was interesting. Any comments-I need some reassurance that there is an end in sight!!

I could have sworn I was in labor for at least a week before they finally induced me. I was dilated to a four, and had regular, painful contractions...but nothing every progressed. I was in L&D twice as well, and was so frustrated to have to go home and just wait some more. My ob finally induced me at 37 weeks. The good news is: your babies can't stay in there forever! Good luck...it's coming soon mama!

I'm sorry hon, I know how you feel! I'm just as frustrated. I am progressing super slow and had been fighting off contractions since 27 weeks, but now when I want these babies to come, NO contractions!!!! My OB tells me they could come any day now, but I'm losing my faith. It's just sooo hard to wait! Hang in there, I'm sure our babies will make their appearance when they're ready. :hug99:

very frustrating... I had a similar experience with my first dd... lots of exhausting painful ctx...days of it..and after being checked and still tightly closed I also vowed that "I won't be going to the hospital until my water breaks"... I was in so much pain after one doctor appt I remember actually praying this outloud to God.."God, if you want me to know I'm in labor you are just going to have to make my water break!" Not ten minutes later my water broke!! Not kidding!!! You are doing great for 36 weeks..hang in there, it'll happen soon.
