I am officialy 37 weeks now and was told last wed that i was dialated maybe 1 cm and my cervix was soft... Taken off of the contraction stopping meds and given the all go for natural labor.

So my question is... When i am sitting i always have a medium contractions like every 10 min.... but when i go to lay down they stop mostly. Or are very light. Its been this way for days .

So i am wondering if i try to sit more... so i will keep have the contractions...do you think they will help to progress my delivery... making me more dialated... or am i just going through it for nothing, and should i just lay down and take my rest while i can?

I am soooooooo READY to have these kids.
    :(

Hang in there. They will come when they are ready. I know you are anxious to meet them. :hug99:

I can't guarantee this is true but I remember reading a long time ago that if the contractions stop when you lay down then they are not "working" contractions but are just your uterus tuning up to get ready.

I don't think I would try to do anything to increase them....you will probably just wear yourself out. When real labor starts you won't be able to lie down and rest, so take advantage of this while you can. Just stay as comfortable as possible b/c when your body really gets going you won't be able to get comfortable no matter what you do!
