I have them all day long. There is nothing you can do except try to stay very hydrated and rest. I contract whether I am resting or not. I contract when get up from a sitting position, turn in the bed, sneeze, getting out of my car, laughing, or just about anything. I dont have any that are regular time intervals or anything, and I drink about 100 oz. a day.

I was put on Brethine by my Dr maybe you should ask about that if you are worried.....and you could just be having braxton hicks

I have them off and on all day and have been for about 6-8 weeks...MD says it is normal! Your uterus is larger than with just one baby so it thinks you are further along, also it is practicing for the real thing! As pp stated drink lots and rest often. You should call the doc if you have more than 5-6 in one hour and they don't go away...or if they start feeling diff. or get stronger.

I like the PP's reply of getting them when they breathe, roll over, sneeze, think about the moon, etc! That made me laugh!

I had a time where I was getting them every 4-5 mins, and they were strong and had pelvic pain with them. I didn't know what they were at the time and I went to L&D to be monitored. I just drank a ton of water and they stopped! I now am on a mission to drink and drink and drink!...water that is! :)

I get about 7-10 a day....and for no reason at all. I am usually ok with them since there isn't any pelvic pain associated with them, just a tightening of my already tight belly. I would say, if you have a concern, surely talk to your doctor. There isn't anything worse than not knowing and feeling scared or worried! :)

Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason as to why you get them. PP gave you good advice, to rest and stay hydrated. If you are getting a lot be sure to let your OB know. Sometimes they can change your cervix without you knowing it.

I've been getting them everyday since about 26 weeks. I got them with my first pregnancy also. My Dr. wasn't too concerned about them. They lasted only about 30 sec. and were about 15 minutes apart when they were regular. Now, I don't even realize them until my hubby says, are you ok, because I actually have to breathe through some of them without even realizing it.

At that point, I just lie down, drink lots of water, and catch up on some TV or read
