Contractions at 27 weeks?

This past weekend, I started having some contractions! Saturday, I had 3 in 15 minutes and then laid down for a little while and they stopped. Now I just keep randomly having them throughout the day. They really feel different from BH's I've had in the past. Usually with a BH, I notice that my whole belly has tightened up but it doesn't bother me. These, though, start at the top of my belly and really take my breath. I have an OB appointment tomorrow with an u/s and glucose test so I plan on mentioning it but what do you all think? Any of you experienced this so early on? Is it more normal in a second pregnancy?

ETA: I forgot to mention that since lunch I've had to pee about every 30 minutes or so and I keep getting funny feelings and pains "down there." Would you be worried?

 

I would call the doctor if you are questioning it. Hope everything goes well, are you drinking enough water? I think this can cause premature contractions.

Is it possible you have a UTI? I know those can cause irritations (BH's) and obviously cause you to pee or feel like you need to more often. I hope it's nothing serious like PTL. Please let us know what the dr. says.

 

sound like my "normal" but not everyone has the same norm...definitely check with your doctor.

 

I started having BH contractions at around 24 weeks, and my Dr. said totally normal. So I think it's a good thing to bring up at your appointment today. And all through this pregnancy, I've had spirts of having to pee every 30 minutes, then back to a normal pee schedule. I think it just depends on where the baby is.

when I was pregnant with the twins I went into labor at 28 weeks because of a urinary tract infection......I think you should talk to your doctor.

 

Umm, I hope those cntx are normal because I get A LOT of them. MW told me real contractions about be consistent and hurt, but I've heard that's not always the case and I have a relatively high pain tolerance. I have an appt tomorrow, too, and will be asking about all the BH cntx I get.
