was having pretty intense contractions yesterday so we went to triage last night. we were there for 3-4 hours and i got a shot to stop them but only one shot and it did not work as the contractions came back. the shot causes my heart rate to go up in the 130s so they can't give it to me. we got home at around midnight. i haven't really slept. they said there was nothing they could do since my uterus is nice and thick and long and i hadn't broken my water. but that if the pain became unbearable again to come back.

we got home and i slept off and on from 2am to about 8am waking up every couple of hours. i am exhausted to say the least. my stomach is still tightening but not as severely, i have all the symptoms of labor minus the leakage, dialation, cervix softening/shortening and bleeding. my lower back hurts, my stomach is cramping and i'm nauseated. but it is tolerable as long as i can sleep. right now i can't eat because the nausea is so intense. i have placed a call into the doctor for an anti-nausea med. she knows what happened last night because she was on call.

so right now i am trying to rest and sleep as much as possible.

on the bright side, the boys are fine, overly active for 29 weeks. they think that because i am having twins that are so active and that i am so small that the pain i am feeling is mostly them kicking and punching the crap out of me. that is their theory since i wasn't in active labor and am still not in active labor since everything is in tact. i'm just in a lot of pain (can't sit upright, or stand up straight and i move like a snail). also, last sunday i failed the FFN test so i know that i won't be going into labor within the next few days. they did another one yesterday morning at my scheduled OB visit but i have not gotten the results.

i see the specialist on monday for an complete ultrasound and growth scan.

i think if i was able to just get a full nights sleep i might feel a lot better. i don't know.

but the pain today is not as bad, it's the nausea and exhaustion that is killing me and the paranoia of bleeding from the dialation test (which is completely normal unless it's gushing period type of bleeding - none of which has happened).

so that is that. stll in pain but nothing can be done. :( i left triage feeling the same as when i came in last night.

I know you are so uncomfortable, but the longer you "cook" those babies the better! My boys were born at 33 weeks and still spent a month in the NICU. I would have rather suffered every miserable moment of my pregnancy (including the stretching in my rib cage) than the time in the NICU. It was truly the most trying time of my life.

I hope they (the babies) give you some relief soon! Hang in there!

Kristine, sorry to hear you are so miserable. I was not able to take the anti-contraction medications either because my HR was so high. 140's resting at times. I was sent for all kinds of tests on my heart in the last 6 weeks or so of the pregnancy. If I would have kept contracting, I would have had to go on mag. Luckily, that didn't happen! There is no doubt about it, twin pregnancies are very difficult(for most) during that last trimester(and for some lucky people like us, the whole entire thing!).
