Has anyone enrolled their 3-year-olds in preschool/beginner soccer classes? The boys have been begging me to let them play soccer ever since one of their friends at day care started playing this past spring. All of our local youth soccer leagues won't take them until 4 years old, but there is a program called Soccer Tots I have been researching that does classes as young as 18 months up to 7 years. I am considering enrolling them in a Saturday class for this fall right after their 3rd birthday. Since Soccer Tots is a national program, I'm just curious if anybody else has their kids in this program and if they like it? Before I spend the $160 for 8 weeks of sessions plus $50 registration fee. Yipes!! (that's actually not bad compared to programs like gymboree & little gym but money's tight for us at the moment!)

we are looking into this right now! We have swimming until Friday and then I would love to find another activity for them, my mom knows someone who runs a soccer group for toddlers so she is finding out some info for us.

Mine are starting soccer this fall. They will be almost 4. They had to be 3 by July 1st to play. This year they will have 6 or 8 practices, but no games. Next year they will move up and actually have games. This year is just for learning. They already have soccer balls and are so excited to play!

My Son started Soccer shots when he was 3 1/2 - he really like it and was fun for him - taught his some basic skills. Now he will start soccer for the township since he is 4 1/2

    where are you from?

We are in a similar program called Lil' Kickers. I love it (and so do the kids). I decided they were getting too old for Gymboree and gave soccer a try. At gymboree, they didn't really participate, kind of did their own thing. At soccer they are learning to follow directions and are doing things without me by their side. They don't play soccer the whole time, but play games that work on basic skills. I would do it.

My boys are in SoccerTots now (and also did it this past fall). It's great! It's not as much $ as the other programs, and they learn basic soccer skills. There aren't soccer games yet, that will be once they are 4 and I enroll them in our town league. They love this though, b/c its skills through the use of games. They do kick the balls and do fun things!!!
You do get a discount for twins...not much, but I want to say the whole thing came to around 260?

Our boys started at age 4 & they loved it. My husband did coach in an under 6 league & patience is greatly needed at that age group. They learn to listen & have fun.
