    Hi All

I've been missing in action here, dealing with things at home the last 8 weeks. Now my DS is in his bed screaming his head off. He wakes up two hours after going to sleep, won't nurse, is generally fussy, and i can hear that he has some nasal congestion. I give him saline drops (last night and tonight) and then tonight I tried that bulb syringe thing in his nose, royally unsuccessful, and just started off another bout of crying -- which will no doubt lead to more congestion!

At any rate, he hasn't been himself the last two days. He has moments during the day when he is fine, but then he has times when he's really upset and crying, not like I've seen him cry before.

Any suggestions as to how I might make him more comfortable? We're supposed to go in for our one year check up next week and I was holding off til then to see the doctor, but if this keeps up might have to go earlier.

Do sleep positioners really work for congestion?? Not sure what else to do.

    Thanks! Sotto

I would call the ped. It's too bad that the appointmet is so close, but better to be safe.

Have you tried steamy bathroom or a humidifier? Tylonol? Vicks baby vapor rub?

Hope he feels better soon- poor baby!

Go in for a check with the Pedi. Sounds like an ear infection to me! Good luck!!

I would go to the pedi earlier. Might be an ear infection. My girls often get them after being congested- something about the mucus pooling in the ear and getting infected. In the mean time you might want to elevate the mattress or crib a little so he's sleeping a little upright. that seems to help a little. Hope your little one feels better soon.
