Plain Sudafed (the little red pill - the box says Sudafed - PE) - but I refuse to take this anymore because I couldn't sleep at ALL. You can take Benadryl and that might work. PLAIN mucinex in the blue box is also okay. Benadryl was the only thing that gave me any relief with nasal congestion this past round of illnesses we had in the house. However, it turned into a seriously nasty sinus infection and required antibiotics.

    Hope that helps!

Oh - here is an ALL natural remedy that helped me in my last PG. Get a warm-air humidifier and set up a tent with it. Prop up an umbrella if you need to and cover it with a blanket and sit in the tent once it's all nice and steamy - think of it as a little steam-room. It REALLY helps with congestion - especially if you use a Halls while in the steam tent!

You can take plain Sudaphed but I would ask for the old kind with psuedophedrine that you have to ask the pharmacist for. Nose spray decongestants may also be okay with your doc since they are more local and don't go through your whole system.

Non drug remedies are steam. I like put boiling water in a wide bowl and drape a towel over my head. I also got a Netti pot from Walgreens called Sinucleanse. It's a plastic tea pot looking thing that you put a saline solution in and pour into one nostril and out the other. Sounds weird but it works great!

Plain sudafed (with no letters after it) it is behind the pharmacy counter and you have to have the pharmacist get it for you. If you stay congested for a few days I would call your OB.

I am allowed to take plain sudafed too. With my third pregnancy I was very sick with a sinus infection and pneumonia, and they actually allowed me to use neosynephrine nasal spray for a few days. It was heavenly to be able to breathe again. Have you tried the breathe right strips that go on your nose? They do work. (Of course, you don't want to wear them during the day!) Feel better, Lisa

My nose is either running like a river or so stuffed and congested I can't breathe. :s It seems to be alternating every few days now. :s

I just started with the stuffiness yesterday. My OB says the only thing to take is plain Sudafed. It helps, but not for the entire 6 hours you have to wait between doses. I just hope it goes away fast. I hope I don't manage to pass it on to my family either!!

Honestly, try some horseradish!!! Make some shrimp cocktail at home. The sauce is easy, just ketchup and horseradish! You will be amazed! Good luck!!!

I used saline nose drops, a vick's humidifier, and benedryl. I've been congested the whole pregnancy (since 6 weeks).

There is some great soap that you buy for stuffy babies, like a vapo rub soap by Johnsons, it works greatfor adults too! Also I used lots of saline and plain ole Vicks vapo rub the old fashion kind rubbed under my nose
