With my last 2 pregs they induced me and i delivered after almost 20 hours. With these, i was told " You will absolutely have a c section, no regular delivery ". Well, thats all fine and great and everything, but i have questions.

Does having a c sect mean i wont have to go through labor and dialating and contractions?

If my water happens to break at some point, will they do a c sect immediately?

I was also induced for my first two. I delivered much sooner and was not facing the option of c/s. With the twins I pretty much knew that I would have a c/s because they were both breech. With me I did not go through labor per say. I had barely dilated one centimeter. I was having contractions, but nothing bad. My water broke (it never did with my first two) and I went in the the hospital immediately. They did a c/s shortly after that. I think each case is different, you may want to discuss the options with your dr. GL

Chances are your dr will say if you start having regular contractions, or your water breaks, to come in and they will do the c/s.

I had a c/s with my ds. So my c/s with my dd was planned. Night before it was scheduled, my water broke at 12:30 am. I called him, he said go in, and my dd was born at 3:43 am instead of about 7am like I was scheduled for.

No you won't have to go thru the whole labor part before doing the c/s, but if labor does start you'll likely go in and have the c/s then, unless you go to your scheduled date! :)

Course every dr is different so you'll really have to ask yours how they do things!

I'm curious: Why did they decide for you that you'll have a C-section? Was there a specific reason or is that their standard practice with twins?

It's thier standard practice. My peri said " having them naturally means that even if it is 3am and you are in the hospital, there MUST be someone nearby who knows how to do twin deliveries. It isnt the same as with a single because the risks are much higher of something going wrong. If one is delivered and the other is breech or starts having complications, they have to know what to do right then and that means having had experience with twin births. We want to make sure both babies will be safe, so we only do c/s because multiple pregnancies are always high risk. Anything could go wrong, and we want to ensure the best chances for thier survival ". Certainly made sense to me.

with my son I had scheduled c-section and I was dilated only 1sm and didn't have any contractions.
For this twins pregnancy I was told that I will have a c-section because I have 3 reason high risk pregnancy.
#1. iVF ( no idea why it is high risk)
    #2 I had previous c-section 3 years ago
    #3 twins.
I would add that #4 I am overweighted.
but my first baby was breach and nobody knows the reason why. I just think that these 2 babies might be breach too. I do want to try VBAC, but I don't want to risk anyone. so I am agreed with c-section.

Hmmm, that still seems odd to me. Is it the only hospital available for you to deliver at? My hospital always had someone there that could do a high risk delivery.

My peri went into it wanting to be able to do a normal delivery if at all possible, but it would be done in the O.R. in case it needed to become a c-section. As long as baby A's head was down and B was not substantially bigger than A, we'd try regular delivery first.
