When I had my last u/s at 31weeks6days, the twins weighted 3&1/2 lbs and 4lbs. Today at 34w6d, they weigh 4lbs 7oz and 4lbs 12oz. Does that seem like slow growth? I had really hoped they would be into the 5lb mark. I know u/s can be off too, hopefully if that is the case they are off erring on the smaller side. How does this sound to others? The gestational weight by u/s on Twinstuff averages 5lbers at this point, so I am nervous for my little guys.

I don't think they're significantly smaller than average for twins. And the last few weeks are when babies usually really pack on the weight. What did your Dr say? If she/he's not worried, I wouldn't be.

I tend to fixate on numbers. I will see the doc tomorrow and see. At the u/s today it was just the RN/tech who said they were doing fine...

Plus our tech told us u/s can have an error margin of a lb. Jessy was heavier than the u/s said but Jazz was the same. At 34 weeks and a day Jazz weighed 4lbs 9 oz

I hope your doctor reassures you that there is nothing wrong. I wouldn't worry until you have reason to worry. The u/s can be off, even more then a lb. My dd was supposed to be one lb heavier then my son and he was almost 2 lbs heavier at birth.

Let us know what the doctor says tomorrow.

I can't remember when I had my last ultrasound before I delivered. Maybe 32 weeks or so? (I delivered at 36 weeks). At the time mine were in the 50th to 75th percentiles and I was hoping they would continue on that path. When I delivered at 36 weeks I was so anxious to hear their weights and hoped they were both in the 6 lb range. By my estimates, I figured they would have been by then. I was disappointed when I heard 5 lbs 14 oz and 5 lbs 6 oz. I remember thinking, that's it?? But they were healthy and that's all that mattered. I was told all along that it's not the weight that matters, but the gestational age. The fact that you're almost at 35 weeks, and they're both over 4 lbs is great news.

I think when you get near the end, they don't grow as fast as a singleton does. They just run out of room.
