My twins are 7 months old and are growing wonderfully and very fast. Although they are very helathy in all ways I have become concerned with Gracie. Mason is very strong and can hold himself very good. He loves to stand up in your lapith assistance of ourse, but Gracie cannot do that. When I try to tand her up in my lap she just collapses. If I try to make her stand she just sceams and cries like s hurting her to stand or put any weight on them. Am I being paranoid or do you think there could be a problem??

As hard as it is, you have to try not to compare them. They are two different people. I think she is probably fine. If you are concerned though, call your pediatrician and see what he/she has to say.

I would call your pedi. I completely agree about the not comparing them, and if she just seemed uninterested I would probably just wait until their next appointment. The fact that it physically is uncomfortable makes me think you should call. Do you think it is hurting or is it possible that she is just mad because she doesn't want to? I really don't want to alarm you. But I would call.

She just may not be ready yet - quite normal. But if you think she is in pain then take her to the drs.

I would say make an appointment with their doctor. Of course we are going to compare our children, it is impossible not to. And I think it is better to get things checked out then to sit around worried.

Like everyone else said, she isn't a carbon copy of her brother;)... However, I would think at that age, she should be able to stand up on your lap with help...

We can all say everything she's fine, try not to compare etc.. but u will still worry, its what mommy's do. so make an appt to get checked and it will ease ur mind.

My daughter did the same thing. We started her in EI (she gets physical therapy and OT), BUT she started showing improvements before therapy even started because I went against all conventional wisdom and started putting them in an exersaucer and a jumperoo. Her therapists "sneer" (nicely!) at me and say she is the exception to the rule (they are supposed to do more harm than good developmentally)... All children develop differently and it is really hard not to compare, and I try not to... but I'll never turn my nose up at some professional help!

I would see the Ped. if you think she's in pain - no matter what.

Good Luck with whatever you decide!

Maybe she's a more timid person than her brother? James loved to stand in laps and jump (!!) but Sean would scream because he thought standing was scary. (He was an extreme snugglebug.) If you're really concerned then do call your pedi, he/she will most likely put your mind at ease.
