We are working towards getting some scheduling info together as a resource addition to our "sleep sticky" and would like to know what you 5 mo. olds schedules look like/looked like (roughly) Thank you!!!

    example:

    7:00 wake/bottle or bf
    9:00 nap
    11:00 feed
    1:00 nap
    3:00 wake

etc. etc. you get the idea. Thank you for your participation!!

Our schedule at 5 months wasn't much different than the one at 4 months, except that we added another ounce of formula and dropped one of their afternoon bottles.

    7am wake
    8am bottle
    9am solids~fruit and oatmeal
    930am nap
    11am bottle
    2pm bottle
    230pm nap
    5pm bottle
6pm solids~veggie, fruit, and oatmeal and bathtime
    8pm bottle and bed

I only have 2 naps in there, but, they usually take a couple of catnaps, depending on how long their two main naps are.

In between feedings and naps, they get floor time, jumper time, and exersaucer/walker time. Emma is sitting unsupported now, and Jacob sits in his Bumbo.

Their bottles are 5-6oz. Jacob will eat 2 of the small jars of baby food, or 3-4 cubes of homemade baby food, and I am lucky to get 1 jar into Em, she loves her bottles!! Emma sleeps thru, and Jacob wakes a few times for a binky. [IMG]

    I used Becky's as a model!

    7am wake
    9am solids (fruit and oatmeal)
    930am nap til 1030 or 11am
    1130am bottle
12-1230 catnaps in car to drop John at PreK
    130pm bottle
    2pm nap
    430pm bottle
    5pm solids~veggie
    6pm bathtime
    630-7pm bottle and bed

We have two naps but Kevin sometimes takes one in the late afternoon again. They usually take catnaps when we take John to school and if we had a bad nap day. We also don't always have a good nap schedule or even nap together some days [IMG]

For play, we do floor time (play mat), jumperoo time, and exersaucer/walker time. Both still need some support to sit so we use Boppies.

Patrick eats 8 oz mostly, Kevin 6-8 oz. Patrick eats half a container of reuseable Gerber or 3-4 cubes of homemade baby food (he likes mashed potatos, turkey surprise and squash a lot, all leftovers from Turkey Day). Kevin doesn't like solids very much. He likes his bottles [IMG] Patrick sleeps through pretty much every night. Kevin goes through some wakings for a few days in a row and usually goes back to sleeping through.

    Hope this helps everyone!

if you can CALL it a schedule- no, we're getting there!

5:45-6ish- wake and BF (so early b/c i have to leave for work so early!)
    8:00- nap (usually 45-60 min.)
    playtime
10:00- BF or bottle (if at sitter)
    play
    11:30/12- nap (usually 45-90 mins.)
    2:00- BF or bottle
    playtime
    5:00-catnap
    6:00-BF or bottle
7:30- get ready for bed (bath 1-2/wk, books, quiet play, songs)
8/8:30- bottle before bed, then down after bottle.

DD is better napper, DS is still not very consistent! DD usually sleeps through night, though occ. wakes for binky. DS usually starts waking for a little TLC off and on from 4:30 or so- that time is SLOWLY getting later! phew!
for bottles, getting about 6.5 oz/feed. who knows from BF though!

Our feeding times are pretty set, but the naps are all over the place!

    During the week...
    6am - wake and eat 8oz bottle
7am - DH takes them to daycare
    10am - eat 8oz bottle
Between 10am-2pm - eat cereal/nap, and Mommy picks them up from daycare
    2pm - eat 8oz bottle
    Between 2pm-6pm - eat veggie/fruit
    6pm - eat 8oz bottle
    6:30pm - bath
7pm - snuggles, night-night song, prayers and bed

On the weekends, we typically try to get them to go back to sleep after the 6am feed (yes, DH and I are selfish and want more sleep!). Then we follow the same schedule starting with the 10am bottle.

Naps are VERY unpredictable at our house, but the rest is pretty accurate:

7-7:30 or so Wake & play in crib
8-8:30 or so 5-8 oz. bottle then play
9:30-10:30 hopefully this is a nap!
11:00 5-8 oz. bottle then play
12:30-1:30 again, hoping for a nap
2:00 5-8 oz. bottle then play
    4-5:00 nap if we're lucky
5:00 5-8 oz. bottle more play
    7:00 bathtime if it's a bath night
    7:30 last bottle
    8:00 down for the night!

I started out very strict about their start time, but have found it's better all around if they have 30-45 minutes in one of the cribs together to play, talk, and look at the mobile, they have a blast. I just make sure that they definately get their first bottle by 9 a.m.

    430 nurse then nap (short)
615/630 nurse then sleep (wake 2-4 times each)

We are working on sorting out naps, solids, and all the milestones of this month, but this is sort of the schedule that has been emerging this month:

    630 Wake
    645 Nurse
    730 Oatmeal and Fruit
8:00 Nap - usually about an hour to hour and a half, sometimes less, who knows
    10:00 Nurse
11:15 Nap - usually longer nap, about an hour and a half to 2 hours, but again, who knows
    1:00 Nurse
Typically a small nap in the afternoon, about a half hour or 45 minutes, or they nap in the car since afternoon is when we go out if we leave to shop, go to the
    park, etc.
    4:00 Nurse
    5:00 Oatmeal and Veggie
6:15 Tubtime - bath, lotion, jammies
    6:30 Nurse
    In bed by 7:00
Still get up once to nurse, between 1:30 and 4 ... sometimes one will sleep through, but not consistantly yet, dangit

We just added solids after they were a little over 5 months, so we are working those into the schedule. I nurse all feeding sessions so I'm not sure what they get but if they are bottle fed it's usually about 6-7 ounces.

Playtime: They love to roll around so we get on the activity mats and I surround them with toys and they get on their tummies and rake all the toys in that they can get their paws on. We have a nice balcony with carpeting and I take them out there to play too, they love the fresh air. They also love the Jumperoo and Exersaucer, and love to practice "walking" with us holding their hands. I go out with them about 4x a week or so, to stores, my parents, the park, etc. They still love naked time in the crib and they love to watch "The Price is Right." Must be all the colors and excitement.

    7am wake
    8am breastmilk bottle
    9am nap
    11am wake
    Noon breastmilk bottle
    1pm nap
    2pm Megan wakes
4pm Melissa wakes/breastmilk bottle for both babies & Megan down for 3rd nap
    5pm Megan wakes
    6pm Baths
    6:30pm BED

As you can see, one baby is on a 2 nap schedule and the other on a 3 nap schedule. I am hoping to get rid of Megan's 3rd nap soon in hopes of stretching out her afternoon nap to match her sister's.

I exclusively pump and feed breastmilk with an occasional formula bottle if I am low. We haven't started solids yet.

Our schedule isn't exactly set in stone by any means just kind of seems to be how our days go.

    6:30 AM 4 oz bottle
8:00 AM wake for the day
    9:00 AM 6 oz bottle
    11:00 AM cereal
    12:00 PM 6 oz bottle
1:30 PM 2-4 oz bottle to help get to sleep--nap
    3:00 PM 6 oz bottle
5:00 PM 4 oz bottle and nap
    7:00 PM fruit or veggie*
    8:00 PM 6 oz bottle
    8:30ish PM bed

Some nights they wake up around midnight (that is when DH gets home from work) and they will have 2-4 more oz to get back to sleep.
They will sometimes take a couple 10-15 minute cat naps but not everyday.

*We don't do a fruit or veggie every night.

    8:30 wake up, play
    9:30 nurse
10:30 - 11:30 nap begins, nap for 45 min or so
12:30 or so nurse, then baby food, play
rotate from Jumperoo, Tummy time, high chair, excersaucer, Mommy's lap....
1:30-2:30 or so nurse, nap anywhere from 1-3 hrs

They still get up 2-3 times at night to nurse. *sigh*

THANK YOU!! We have a solid routine, but not a schedule. And it's all being shaken up by very weird night time waking...here's my ideal day - rarely happens but it's beautiful when it does:

5:00 - Nurse and right back to sleep
7:30 - Wake for the day, cuddle and play
8:00 - Nurse and play (will add solids in here next time they actually do it!)
    9:00 - Nap
10:00ish (Naps range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, but the day works best when at least two of them are 1 hour plus) - Wake and get dressed.
10:30 - Nurse, play or go out for a walk or errand
    12:00 - Nap
    1:00ish - Nurse
    3:00 - Nap
4:00 - Nurse, play, second opportunity for a walk if we missed out in the morning
    5:30 - Bathtime
    6:00 - Nurse and sleep

In the past 3 weeks, we've come to something like this, with waking at either 7 or 8:

    7:00 Wake, BF
8:15 Nap - 40 minutes (making me crazy!!!)
    Play
    9:15 Solids (Rice & Veggie)
    Play
    10:00 BF
    Play
11:00 Nap - 40 minutes (making me more crazy!!!)
    Play
    12:30 BF
    Play
1:30 Nap - 40 minutes (making me more crazy!!!)
    Play
    3:00 BF
    Play
4:00 Nap - 40 minutes (making me more crazy!!!)
    Play, Baths, Lots of Fussing
    6:00-6:30 BF, Bedtime

They wake about 3 times per night. Twice on a very good night. I'd do anything for longer naps!!!

My beebs are 5.5 months now, and our schedule is pretty darned firm.

They wake between 7-8 am. I go in and get them changed and dressed about 7:45 am (they play/talk in their cribs until then).
    Bottle 8:15 am
    Play 8:30-10
Nap 10-12 (often times at least one of them only naps an hour, and I bring the awake baby out to the playpen to have some independent play time while the other baby sleeps)
    Bottle 12
    Play 12:15-2:00
Nap 2-4 (again, it seems that the other twin then only wants to nap an hour, so I bring the awake baby out to the playpen)
Bottle 4 followed by solids (right now oatmeal and a fruit or veggie, this is very new to the program)
    Play 4:45-6
Swings 6-7 (this is when my husband and I try to eat dinner, we are going to be very sad when they outgrow the swings!)
Snuggle time or bath time (alternating nights) with mommy and daddy 7 pm
Bottle 8 pm then off to bed.

They don't tend to wake in the night. If they do it is only for a pacifier and right back to sleep.

    Rinse, repeat.
