Comparing Java with other languages for developing large projects?

I’ve been exploring options for a new large-scale project, and I can’t decide whether Java is the right choice or if I should consider something else. A few years ago, I worked on a smaller project with Python, and while it was quick to develop, scaling it turned out to be a nightmare. The performance issues kept piling up, and we eventually had to migrate part of it to Java. That worked well, but I keep wondering if Java is still the best choice today or if other languages like Go or Kotlin might be better for such tasks. What are your thoughts?

That’s a good question, and I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve worked on several large-scale systems, and Java has often been the go-to language. It’s incredibly robust, with a huge ecosystem and a track record of handling enterprise-level projects effectively. While Kotlin is gaining traction (especially for its modern syntax), I still feel Java’s stability makes it a solid choice. Plus, there are great resources for Java development services, like this one: https://digiscorp.com/java-development-services/ , which might help you dive deeper. I’d say Go is interesting, especially for microservices, but for a project that needs long-term maintainability and proven frameworks, Java often wins. I had a similar experience where the decision to stick with Java saved us from compatibility issues down the line.

I’ve always felt like Java is a safe bet for large projects because of its longevity and massive community support. But honestly, it depends on the project type and your team's expertise. Sometimes, even a newer language like Kotlin can fit perfectly if you’re looking for something that integrates with Java but offers some modern improvements. It’s cool to see how tech evolves, and the right choice is always about finding a balance between scalability, performance, and developer productivity.
