I finally found a store somewhat near me that sells combi strollers. I went all the way out there to try out the combi because I do not want to order a stroller online sight unseen, hate it, and deal with shipping a stroller back. The one at the store did not steer. The front wheels were terrible, they wouldn't turn correctly. Basically I had to just use the back wheels and yank the stroller in the right direction and there weren't even any babies in it yet. Do you think this was a fluke? I see that the combi has mostly good reviews but the floor model at the store I went to was terrible.

I saw that they had a Peg Perego Twin Aria 2007 model......not the 2008 60/40.......and that actually seemed to steer very well. The seats seemed more comfy, and there was a snack tray for each kid. But then I went home and saw that it got a lot of bad reviews! I called Peg Perego to see if they had a 2008 model that was not a 60/40 and they said no and also that the Aria is not for "everyday use" and not to use it on anything other than mall surfaces. I said what about pavement and they said no, not even pavement. That seems bizarre to me.

I want a side by side stroller with some kind of snack tray for each child. I would be using it for errands, mall shopping, pavement and the boardwalk.

    Any suggestons?
    TIA!

I have the Combi twin savvy lx and I love it. It fits well through door ways and it is lightweight. I have never had a problem with it turning--maybe the store one has been abused as a floor model. We use ours outside, at soccer games, the store, everywhere.

We have a Perego Pliko P3 single stroller and I hate it! I thought peg perego was supposed to be so good, but this thing is falling apart from just strolling around the neighborhood. I've heard good things about the combi side by side - you should try to find another store to test the model.

I don't think it was a fluke. I tried out the Combi and hated it! It wouldn't steer very well. I also have heard not great things about the Peg Perego. I ended up getting the Maclaren Twin Techno (they also have another SBS that is cheaper) and it is GREAT! Steers VERY well - the best out of all the ones I tried!

I have the Combi Twin Savvy LX and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I've never had a problem steering it. But we only use it inside places, we have a jogging stroller that we use outside on sidewalks/parks/grass, etc. I have had some trouble shopping with the Combi because it's hard to fit through clothes racks at some stores. But I think that would be a problem with any stroller really. Other than that... it's great!

I have the Combi Twin Savvy EX and I really like it. I take the kids for walks outside all of the time, and I use it for errands and shopping and such. It steers really well for me. Maybe the wheels were locked on the one in the store? My only complaints on the stroller are that the baskets aren't useful to me. They are really hard to get things in and out of. And the seats don't sit completely upright, they are at a slight recline. My kids are always leaning forward. But I have to say, the seat thing appears to be common with all strollers because I can't find many that sit upright. So, for a lightweight stroller I really like my Combi overall.

No, it was NOT a fluke! I just bought it and it's turming is absolutely terrible. I came across reviews that say the same thing....Of course, after I bought it! You have to make very wide turns to make it turn without a hassle. I am thinking of returning it - Also, one side of the stroller does not incline AT ALL. The little thingy in the back is broken. I compared it to the other side and it is backwards. I have figured out a way to fix it with a screwdriver, but why bother? I really don't like this stroller at all and don't recommend it.

To everyone that doesn't like them, when I first got mine, I didn't like it either, then I realized that the front wheels were locked. When I unlocked them so they swivel, I found the stroller to be wonderful. I am just throwing that out there in case others have the swivel locked and didn't realize to unlock it.

I was going to say the same thing - the front wheels must be locked! The thing drives like a dream until my gigantic babies kick the locks and make it impossible to steer.

All three wheels must be unlocked, with the flicker in the up position. It's worth looking at - I LOVE MY COMBI TWIN - I use it 3 X every day.
