I'm just wondering how you do it? Are your babies fussy being in the house? Are you able to go outside? I'm from AZ and its finally warming up this week (in the 80's) and I am soooo happy that we can play outside more. My babies get so fussy being stuck in the house and they can play outside for hours. How do you do it?

I dont have twins yet but i do have 3 lil ones. Here in MT it is soooo frustrating because the weather goes from good to bad back and forth for months. We do a lot of indoor art projects (I hate because of clean up) but playdoh saves the day alot. We are outside if it is ever over 50 degrees!! The winters are hard but it makes the spring so much sweeter. What saved us last year was our towns indoor pool.. which of course is closed this year (my luck). Our kids basically live for trips out to church, school and the store during the winter and if it is below zero they dont get to leave! I guess i am not really sure if I answered your question. We also watch a lil more TV during the winter months, but I justify it because we go weeks (literally) in the summer without it on once!

We also watch more TV in the winter and we just try to get outside when we can. If it's over anywhere nice like 40 or so then DH takes the kids for a quick walk when he gets home or we are out when the baby is sleeping. Even if we are shoveling snow or just in the front. That said it is a long winter here in Canada and I cannot wait until summer.

We play in the house sooo much because the weather here in Michigan is crazy. One day it feels like spring, next day we have 4 inches of snow on the ground (which we do today). So I can't wait for Summer to come!!!!

Uh, we're going a little bit insane/stir crazy about now. I cannot wait for the warmer weather to get out of the house.

I work FT from home, so there's a nanny here from 7-4 M-F. Then it's me and the girls time from 4-6, but I have to fit making dinner in there. What I'm going to do as soon as it is warm is take them to the park at 4pm every day.

Now they spend from 4-6pm pretty much fussing, except for our reading time. Stir crazy I say!! Can't wait for spring!

we live in illinois and the weather here is crazy....you never no what you are gonna get. We have been inside all winter and I don't think the babies no any different but I am going stir crazy.....I can't wait to go to the park and go for a walk ......I would say things will change in the next couple of weeks ....hopefully. You are lucky to live somewhere where the weather is so pleasant.

We just bundle up and go outside anyway! Once temps hit 35 degrees, it's time to take off the coats. [IMG] (I'm actually not kidding, a couple weeks ago we had a day just above freezing and I went on my walk with just a sweatshirt on over my clothes and was fine.)

Here in Syracuse we get a LOT of snow (we're only seconded in snowfall by our northern neighbor Oswego which made national news recently for it's remarkable week-long 12-foot lake-effect snowstorm). Snow makes a GREAT activity for kids! We bundle them up in snowsuits, boots and gloves and take them right outside to play! With sledding, snowman making, snowfort building, skiing and snowboarding to enjoy, what's not to do? Besides the physical fun, you can also incorporate a science lesson in with snowflake watching (www.snowcrystals.com), or during the worst of times, you make shoveling a family affair [IMG]

We don't get quite as cold as some climes though, so that makes it a bit easier. It only gets below zero a few times a year, teens and twenties are about the avg here. Seems to be getting warmer every year too. For more info on that, see www.climatecrisis.org. Soapbox over.

Yes, it has been a long and frustrating winter of cabin fever! I hate taking my babies out in the cold, especially with all the flu's and stomach viruses everyone has had this year. It has also caused them to be extremely people-phobic when they weren't before. I guess when the only faces they are used to seeing are Mommy & Daddy's, anyone else's is going to be scarey. It is supposed to warming up here in KY soon also and I cannot wait! Hate the winter, hate it, hate it, hate it!!! [IMG]

Mine are in daycare M-F, so it's not as much of a problem, but we have developed a list of indoor places to go -- the children's museum, the library (which has a kids area where they can run around), even Costco makes a good outing! We get them out of the house at least once a day, or else we go nuts. We also don't consider it cold unless it's below 30. Anything warmer than that and we just put their warm clothes on and go outside. This is easier now that they can walk, though. But when they were littler, we went strollering (in the Mountain Buggy with the rain cover on) in just about any weather.

MI weather SUCKS! Sorry for the strong wording, but man, do I have cabin fever!
Actually, we "timed" the twins birth really well for going out. Right around the time they can really enjoy a stroller ride, the weather will be perfect.

I try to keep it fun for them and I take them to play groups and storytime at the library. When my older boys come home from school they play with them also. My twins follow them into their rooms. It is starting to get nicer, so maybe we will have 50's soon and the snow will melt and we'll be able to go for walks in the stroller.

But seriously, we're stuck in a lot. We go to the mall sometimes, or Target, but that gets old, particularly when mommy is short on cash. I cannot WAIT for Spring!

Betsy - Those are the most adorable pics!

Weather here in MI sucks! I am also going crazy, I have spring fever soooo bad. There isn't anythng I can do with all this snow. I have so many plans for the girls this summer, I think we will be outside all the time.
