Both my twins are sick once again. DD has green runny noses in the mornings. Does anyone know if this indicates ear infection? Also, DS has congestion/runny nose/etc again and saline drops and suctioning are not working. We're going on a long road trip Wed and am trying to kick it in the butt. Does anyone have recommendations for cold medicine dosages? I'm thinking they probably get 1 tsp, but am not sure.

i am sorry your little ones are sick [IMG] mine have been fighting junk for about a week now and I am so tired. it's hard when they feel so bad.

as far as cold meds go - the infants dimatap worked really well for DS1, but this time, i looked and looked and couldn't find it. but if you can find it, i think it works great. right now i am using the little colds multi symptom meds. it seems to work well but is very watery and so they spit it out real easy. i also dont think they like the taste because they complain a LOT when getting it. but it's helping with the snot noses.

have they been running any fever? that is usually an indication that it developed into an ear infection. also look for red ears and pulling at ears. hopefully it won't develope into that.

i hope some of this babble helps...hope they feel better sooN!

Thanks for the help. I'll look at the store for that one. They don't have fevers, but I'm worried about their ear infections coming back. Both of them just stopped antibiotics last Monday for ear infections.

My first recommendation is to NOT SUCTION...that creates MORE mucous. Then use the tylenol and some infant cold meds. I'm sorry they are sick!! That's hard!! [IMG]

    Good luck on your trip!

    Ditto!

Usually green does indicate some sort of infection, not nessecarily an ear infection, definitely take them to or call the pedi's office.
